I was playing a game yesterday and all of a sudden my screen froze. I hard reset my laptop and powered it back on and now all I see is a half black half white screen. I took out the battery, reset the ram but nothing. The BIOS don't even startup when I turn on my computer. Any input?

I'm thinking maybe the video card is fried? What's the easiest way to check that? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks
    -Mark

Plug your laptop into an external monitor to see if it is the video card problem.

also can you take a picture of your screen so we ca advise.
if attaching an external monitor has the same effect then its the graphics card. if not then its something else.

this is what a normal died 9800GT graphics card looks like.

I tried plugging my computer into a separate monitor and I get nothing. Is there a hotkey I'm supposed to press to get the second monitor working?

As for what the screen looks like it originally looks like a rorschach ink blot when I turn on the computer and then it fades out and one side is completely black and the other side is completely white.

Also, I ordered my laptop in September of 2008 and only had the 1-year warranty. However, looking at the nvidia website it looks like there is a 3-year warranty on their video cards. Has anyone had luck with getting them to replace the video card on their Sager systems? Do I have to remove it myself?

    Thanks,
    Mark

I believe Fn + F7 should change which monitor is your main one. I do not know if it'll work bios-level; just like muting sound only works for me when I'm logged into Windows (not even at login screen)
