Oh my
..........It would be the smallest QC lappy ever!
-
Conratulations!
Personaly I have never even heard of this Quad CPU, you have to post some benchmarks, comparing the old with the new.
Are you running it on a laptop cooler? Those temps look great!
Can you OC it? -
How much did you get it? Nothing showed up when I googled the processor
-
@kaltmond
dude, where did you get smartbay for the DVD slot? -
Where did you find that?? It seems the Q9200 but with multi unlocked..
-
New machine? As in the NP8662's mobo which is revised for QC support?
BTW, I've seen the pictures and noticed that your BIOS version is 1.02.15, any chance of a download? I'm currently on 1.02.14 -
Btw, what is Intel ES Q9200?
Never heard of that one before. The "ES" i mean. -
What does bios .15 and KBC .12 improve?
-
2. Solve T6400 CPU incompatibility issue.
3. Please update firmware in pure DOS mode.
4. Run step1.bat to update EC firmware, run step2.bat to update system BIOS. -
Ill post pics when come back.
CPU ist still ES version, can´t find a QS......But Price is much better than QX9300QS, with only 133MHz slower, maybe also unlocked multi.
-
but where did you find it??
I remember that I met one on ebay but now there isn't anymore..
Is it recognized as an unlocked multi one from the bios??
wich freq does it reach? -
Thanks theriko, flashed my laptop and it's working Flawlessly. Since it's 15, I assume it'll inherit 14's compatibility with gtx 260m, yes?
-
-
3D mark 06 please...
-
Does anyone have usb hub issues?i was using the kcb .10 and bios .12 and i had problems, so i reverted back to the .08 bios. Strange thing is that its not anymore at the oficial site of clevo.

Nice
10char -
Any chance you can do a mini-writeup on it? With part numbers/links and how much custom work you needed to do on the bezel?
Also any heat issues with the drive in that bay? -
Wow kaltmond, I'm actually a bit jealous.
So how are your temps? Does the new chassis cool your 9800M GTX any better? -
-
where did you get the mobo and LCD parts?
-
Good question. How much did the mobo cost you?
-
you didn't tell us where have you found this Q9200!!
temp sensors are broken or simply not recognized yet??
Wich voltages RMClock reports as lowest?? -
The cooler i suppose is the same right?
-
-
I think the temp sensors are still not recognized, it´s still ES not QS.
The lowest VID from Rmclock is 1.1625V. -
Still running smooth kaltmond?
-
LOWEST voltage 1.1625v ???!!!
Maybe RMClock is broken then!! and the maximum voltage??
Where I could find one of these QX9200 ?? -
Finally got a Notebook cooler and it runs much cooler than before. Now i can OC the 98MGTX to 260M level with 550/1375/950 and Max temp i got is 87°C.
The CPU is hardware undervolted to 1.0625V and GPU to 0.95V. With 0.95V it can get 550/1375/950 stable, not bad i think.
-
-
I'm kind of surpised though, you should be having higher scores or I'm the one with incredibly high scores because I score more than 11 800 3DMark06 on mine with a 9800m GT and T9900.
-
I think your Vertex give you at least a 500 point boost over his HD
-
Because you have a high OCed 98MGT and i have to undervolt my GTX.....
-
-
Ja, maybe that.
98GTX has 112sp and already hot, ill receive my 3700M with 128sp today...Let´s see how it willl be......
-
You have my early sympathies. I predict a fire in your future.
-
Interesting, well good luck
-
All I can say is... "Nukka you CRAZY!"
-
I totally respect what you do, it's awesome; but outside of proving that the 9800m GTX could in theory run in that laptop, there would be no point of having such card in that laptop if you had to undervolt it and underclock it to the point that it performed slower than a well overclocked 9800m GT. What you would need in that case is a 9800m GTX on a smaller architecture, which is the 55nm GTX260m which should run cooler. I was tempted of trying a GTX280m in my M860TU but seeing your thread confirmed to me what I always thought, it's best to overclock a 9800m GT or GTX260m like crazy and still be able to play without a cooling reactor under the laptop than having to purchase a card that won't run at it's full potential and potentially slower.
-
Lets trade GPUs, your 9800m GTX for my 9800m GT!
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Or my 9800M GTX for your $350!
-
where can I get a smartbay like this one? np8662 could really use some more battery life.
-
This 'smartbay' is for hard drive only. You can not and will never be able to use the np8662 optical drive bay for a battery.
-
Never say never. You might be able to do it with your NP8662 like 50 years in the future, you just NEVER know man!
It could happen! (my dad says stuff like that when I shoot down one of his crazy opinions) -
Never say never?.. First of all, someone's been watching way too much Disney. Perhaps you'd prefer the phrase 'inplausible.' Besides, who's going to want to use an M860ETU in 50 years time? Let alone to extend its' battery life...
-
lol... u guys forgot my tests to put more battery cells in my opitical drive bay... mabye it worked...
mabye im keeping it to my self..
moahahah
you can do any thing with everything its the beauty of this world!!.. u just got to try and beleave in your self! -

A couple questions for you kaltmond:
Does the Q9200 support Virtualization? The Q9100 doesn't, and it's required to use XP mode once the retail Windows 7 comes out.
Is it, QX, or just Q?
M860TU + QX9200 ES (Test coming soon...)
