How can i check if it supports VT? Is EMT64 the same thing? And it has unlocked multi and in the name there is a Extreme, so i thought it should be called QX. :D

No VT is a seperate instruction set than EM64T, many CPUs support 64-bit without supporting virtualization.

According to Intel Q9100 does support VT...... Just downloaded Everest and seems to be VT supported.

kaltmond i have a launch M860tu.. and i want to put a Quadcore in it..

im running quite a old bios .. so i know ill prob have to upgrade that.

But will i need a new MotherBoard? MB.? you talked about getting a new MB earler..

will the QX9200 ES only work on some special motherboard.. i can get a Q9200 ES for 320 Australian from Hongkong.. would be great!

I believe he was able to find an 'ETU MB on market. You would need to get one of the ETU MB's too if you want to go quad-core.

It isn't. Whether the X is official or not seems to be up for debate. I'm not sure if the Q9200s currently being sold have the unlocked multipliers of kaltmond's earlier batch. Not that we could use them anyway.

I'm pretty sure RJTech has the new mobo for something between $450 and $550. Can't remember exactly.

They are currently selling the q9100 with the M860TU, so I though this meant this CPU can fit right in with mobo that comes with stock purchase?

Also, I'm gonna vote this is the Q9200, not QX9200. Why?
To make it a QX, we'd be doubling the price :)

Clevo's whole point in releasing the M860ETU is so that the mobo supports quads. Thus, any mobile quads will plug in and boot without issue. What most fear is the heat which the >2.0Ghz quads give off.

Emmanuel H's didn't do too badly under the Q9200 did it? I'm trying to remember the thread, but I thought his heats were reasonable. (Even if it refused to undervolt at 2.4Ghz)

Nah, his temps only got up to the 80s I think. The thermal specification is set at 100°, so it's in a safe range.

    yeah, it's what I thought :)

So the computer I'm designing and building is safe :p (I might watch it carefully on a 40 degree day, but otherwise...)

Unless... was he artificially cooling it?

I think intel at the beginning was going to release Extreme 2.4G QC, but maybe too slow so finally comes 2.53G QC. The Q92 now are all ES, even no QS avaliable, but should all with unlocked multi....I knew someone ordered a M57TU with Q92, let´s see if it´s overclockable via BIOS....

    How's it go?

Also, sorry to be a pain Kaltmond, but I PMed you a little while ago to ask about what you thought about the WUXGA screen... does it perform well?

I wonder how much extra performance you will see compared to the Q9000. I am talking real in game performance here at 1680 X 1050 resolutions. I would expect you would get better performance in games like GTA IV and possibly Supreme Commander but what else.

That's a great question, it would add a few extra FPS but the thing is how many.If it's only a couple...forgetaboutit!
And since you cannot monitor the temps on a Q9200 ES a little pointless when some QUADS are running pretty hot in the M860TU.

The ES Q9200s with E0s stepping have temp sensors.

    Great!
I have seen some reports that they do not, that's good to know.
With all the different lettering on the ES it get's confusing.
QAVR,QAJF,QAVK,QDRS they all sound the same after a while
