    Hi,

Just wondering of someone can help me, i have just got my new M860TU, and want to connect it to my bravia, i can get video to display on the HDMI, but no aduio.

I have selected the realtek HD audio device, but it only lets me set up the front port as the audio out.

Can someone tell me what im missing to make the audio go over the HDMI cable?

    Thanks
    BaldMan

right click the volume icon at bottom right - select playback devices - select your TV - press set default - press ok and you are good to go.

    Eivind,

That didnt seem to work, all that pops up is realtek HD audio device, aswell as the internal speakers.

I have performed the steps you outlined, thats where i would have thought it would come up.

    Have you done this before?
Im using windows 7 with the drivers that come with the laptop installed manually.

please help someone, just got this new beast and i need it to hook up to my TV.

    EDIT:

I have updated to the latest drivers, still no joy.
I thought about pitting the vista install on, but my recovery cds dont work.....

You can try going to Control Panel->(classic view) Sounds-> Then set your default Audio Device as your HDMI. I have seen some system require a reboot and some don't. This is what I have done to change output to HDMI.

I use my TV as monitor all the time and I use the steps I said to get the audio working (from the TV). Remember, you have to reopen the apps you are running to get audio coming out of the TV. If you are running "Arsenal rocks" video on the laptop and plugging in the HDMI-cabel, you have to close the media player and start it again.

It also works if you just press "stop" and "play" again.

Have you tried the one that pops up? Not the internal speaker but the other? A friend of mine gets 2 digital options when he connects the HDMI-cabel, I get 1 digital option.

Remember to "set default". Otherwise it wont work.

Have you tried some of the other HDMI-inputs on the TV?

I formatted and reinstalled vista, with my ultimate disk, using the code on the underside, (side note - should my sticker have HP written on it?)

Well long story short, the driver worked with vista, i can set my audio device to the realtek HD audio and get sound on my tv.

The display switching in vista is terrible when compaired to Windows 7. thus i would prefer to run 7.

Can anyone confirm if they are using windows 7 with the HDMI out port, and if so which driver are you using?

    Thanks
    BaldMan

    EDIT:

I reformatted with Windows 7 and used sager M860TU sound drivers and now have my audio going over HDMI, hope this helps soneone else if they have the issue.

If it says "Vista HP" it probably means Home Premium, nothing to worry about.
