Well i broke down and couldn't resist the urge. I ordered myself one of these bad boys :D.

I am just wondering if the zalman notebook coolers ZM-NC1000/ZM-NC2000 will work with this notebooks physical setup?

Also i am wondering which one to purchase, the ZM-NC1000 or ZM-NC2000? Keep in mind that my notebook will just be sitting off to the side while i am at home on the cooler, with a wirless keyboard/mouse, monitor and speakers plugged into it. At home, i will be using it as a desktop. So the size of the cooler does not bother me, and as far as i can tell the ZM-NC2000 is a bigger version of the ZM-NC1000. However, which one of these will provide the best cooling?

The NP8660/M860TU has vents on the bottom. Assuming these are intake vents, which they probably are, the Zalman notebook coolers should work fine.

    NC1000 should be perfect.

Is the extra cooling even necessary though, unless you're going to overclock the crap out of it?

Seeing as no one outside of Clevo's labs (and possibly Sager and the resellers [that'd make a cool band name]) have touched a M860TU... I have no clue.

But if you want to be all paranoid about your shiny new toy, a cooler does keep temperatures nice and low - and need I remind you that the M860TU is a 15" notebook with a beast of a GPU?

One thing i have learnt after servicing electronics and computers is that cooler is better. Seeing as its going to sit on my desk as a desktop replacement for gaming while im at home, i want to keep it as cool as i can. This way i hope it will last longer

people should build an external refrigerator unit and you can connect a tube from the refrigerator to the laptop or desktop. I would call it the Computer Frig!!!

I just set my laptop on the windowsill with the window open in winter. I get bronchitis but it's worth it protecting my baby.

I would get the Zalman 2000, not the 1000. You can double-check the dimensions of the m860, but I believe it will hang over the edges of the NC1000. The 2000 will be a perfect fit, and will do a great job aiding in cooling.

you don't get moisture if it is a closed system, which means the air from frig does not come in direct contact with the system, instead the air will be contained in copper tubes that run through major heating components...

Why don't you just set up a couple of waterblocks and a small rad?

    That would be awesome.
