M860TU BIOS 1.01.13 Released

I found a new BIOS from Clevo for the M860TU that fixes the high pitched buzzing sound. The version is 1.01.13.

I have tried it on mine, but I can still hear the buzzing sound. Can any of you try it and let me know if it fixes it.

Couple questions:

1. Do you have release notes?

2. You've installed it? What was your kbc/ec firmware revision prior to the update, and what is it now?

 

Sorry don't have any release notes, but I was told it was to address the high pitch buzzing sound some of the M860TU are emitting.

My KBC was 1.00.08. It does not update the KBC beyond that.

 

What is KBC and EC?

 

KBC = Key Board Controller

EC = Embedded Controller

Both of which are internal components that require firmware for their operation.

 

Yes, I'll be waiting on a few success stories before I even think about making my EDGE a paper weight.

 

Do not install this, unless you've previously installed the 1.00.08 BIOS and KBC/EC. You will fail.

Do not attempt to run step1.bat of the .08 BIOS and KBC/EC without ecflash.exe on your bootable device. You will fail.

Has anyone tried the 1.01.13 BIOS? Did it take care of the high pitched buzzing on your system?

Ya that noise drives me crazy however my knowledge is limited ...anyone else wanna try so I don't make a brick outta this thing

 

Why there isnt a bios that upgrades all parts???

KBC/EC Firmware: 1.00.04

So what do i need to upgrade to 1.01.13 ???

 

Hey, question to the OP, how exactly do you get these BIOS releases and have you ever received any other release notes for the other releases? If so, can I take a look at them.

Bluemercury, I have successfully upgraded from BIOS .06S and KBC/EC: .04 to BIOS .13 and KBC .10 (and then again to BIOS .12)

Thanks for the website bro. Now I see why some people were complaining about missed pressed keys and some weren't. PCMW updated the BIOS to .6 before shipping and others stayed at .4

Are there any options in the updated bios regarding memory mapping?

Tried but nothing has changed. The buzzing sound is still there. Moreover the AC adapter is buzzing too now.
No memory mapping option available either.

 

how do i work out what bios im running and how to i upgrade to the latest... is it incromental...

i want to fix my noise

 

Im using the .08, should i ugrade to the .13??does it correct the sound distortion?
