I've just got my new M860TU laptop and I'm currently installing windows vista 32 bit. I've noticed that the dvd drive is incredibly noisy. I mean this is a real noise machine. Is it always like this? To be honest, I doubt I'd use the dvd drive too much except when watching movies and this is so noisy it'd be audible even if you had headphones on.

For me, its only noisy when its starting up, after that I don't hear it, even when its installing stuff. Actually, its not that bad compared to other models I have heard that have that spinning loud vibration for the entire duration that the DVD is inside the drive.

I'll test out a movie when service pack 1 finishes downloading and I can install the drivers and get going.

The eject dvd button is a bit weird.

Its noisy, like most of the optical drives. Its only that the noise is a bit weird.
