    Hi guys,

some time ago I helped my girlfriend shop for a new laptop and we decided that a Clevo M860TU would be best for her (I'm biased with Clevo because I own a 9262 myself and I love it :p ). We ordered the laptop from Prostar - she lives in Canada and with Eurocom having such a bad reputation we decided for Prostar because they offer a Canada program for warranty and shipping. After she got the unit she had to send it in once because of a faulty hdd (clicking noises and hangups). The laptop was returned to her and it was all good except for one annoying problem. Depending on the angle of the LCD screen a blue line appears all the way through the screen. Changing the angle of the screen makes it disappear and reappear. I suspect shoddy workmanship resulting in a loose LCD connector cable, however I want to make sure before I open the laptop.

Ive upgraded the hell out of my own Clevo and I've been built computers and modified laptops for a long time, but I'd like your opinion on this.

I've got the maintenance manual and know the makeup of the unit, so do you think I should re-seat the cable or the inverter?

    Best Regards,

    Anthu

If you're up to it, it wouldn't hurt to try.

Otherwise, just utilize the warranty privileges.

I'm up to it, but I think I worded my question wrong.

Do you think its the inverter or the lcd connector (mobo to screen)?

I dont wanna work on the inverter unless I have to.

    Thanks for the post btw.

I would also think that is a problem with the cable (mobo to screen).

I don't think any problem with the inverter could cause a single line up the screen like that.
