I seem to have problem with the M860TU that I just got.

The machine shows the network port as unplugged and doesn't show a link light on the network switch

So far I have tried :-

Vista x32 (Two versions MSDN and Retail)
XP Pro SP3 X86 (with drivers from the CD and download)
    5 different cables Cat 5e and 6
    2 network switches
    Locking the port to 1000/100/10

All the O/S detect the NIC card but show the port as unplugged

Checked the Bois as well is there anything I missed  ?

Sorry to hear about your improbable predicament.

Sounds like you were pretty thorough.

I would contact you vendor about it and tell them what you have done so that they wont waste time trying the same stuff.

Its very very rare to have a bad RJ-45 plug (or modem plug).... but still possible.

the network controller (which is apart of the motherboard) seems functional, but the port does not seem to be.

so you might have to send it in.

    tell us how it goes.

Thanks I did think that I may have missed something in the Bois and I checked the socket it doesn't seem to have any dry joints (although I wasn't going to resolder them anyways not since it's less than 2 weeks old )

I'm getting no link light so it does seems that the port is dead

Ah well off to deal with Japanese tech support
