Anyone noticed that when running on battery that you have to hold down the power button a bit to turn on the notebook? When it's plugged in I can just push the button and it turns on right away.

perhaps its a safety feature are the laptop is more likely to come into contact with foreign objects while out and about on battery, so you have to hold it down long to activate it.
If something comes and bunps it there, or something protrudes under the lid and hits the power button for a sec, it wont turn on it your bag and fry itself under the insulated environment.

I hope that's the case... if someone else could verify that it's happening to them. But imagine the look on my face when I showed off my brand new gaming notebook to a co-worker and the thing didn't turn on :p

Come on, really? What did your coworker say? Did he call you a n00b for wasting 1.5 seconds of his time?

People, I think these threads in general are constructive, but do we need to hear about how your laptop's "a" key gets sticky sometimes?

Same issue here, you have to hold it down till the blue light turns on without the AC adapter connected.

Even my old Presario was like that. It's normal.
