Hello,
I have a M860TU and i try to upgrade it. I bought 2 memory sticks (CM3X8GSDKIT1066) 2x4gb and my pc is not booting (Fans sound working but i have a black screen and nothing on display no matter how much time i leave it). I updated the bios to 1.02.17 (i think the latest version for this laptop) and again the same.
PC works perfectly with my old RAM modules.
Any suggestions of how to fix the problem of RAMs?
Thank you in advanced.

Easy fix. Return the RAM and buy a brand that is not Corsair. Get Crucial or G.Skill instead.

In terms of RAM, you really only have 3 big manufacturers that makes the stuff, that'd be Crucial (Micron), Samsung and SK Hynix (Hyundai). Every other brand is a re-brand, Corsair, Kingston and G.Skill for example. saturnotaku is obviously biased against Corsair for whatever reason, and of course, there are people on this forum who dislikes G.Skill. Outside of the big three, brand doesn't matter, its more or less all the same stuff. -

In the nearly 20 years I've been building and repairing computers, there are only two brands of RAM that have ever failed me: an off-brand from a company called Komputerbay and Corsair.
Actually, I take that back. I did have a G.Skill module fail...about 6 years after I bought it (was using it in an old server), and the company replaced it no questions asked. -
Corsair Laptop memory has a lot of compatibility issues. A lot of Clevo/AW laptops have issues with them. The same memory will work in an exactly similar Clevo system but will refuse to work in the original one.
So easiest way out, try to just return these and get a different brand. Or get an unlocked BIOS that lets you set custom RAM timings and set them up to spec manually. -

Have you tested one stick or a new stick and an old one paired together?

Sometimes people do buy ram because of the larger number on the box compared to their own.

Or they want a specific set of chips known to overclock well.
