How do you get rid of the whinning noise with RMClock? I've read somewhere regarding that but I can't find it anymore.
Please don't tell me the "turn off/on your bluetooth trick" since it doesn't work![]()
I have all the latest drivers.

is there any way you could record the sound and post it on here so we can actually hear it. the only sound that turning bluetooth on/off sounds like morse code which could be different from what you have.

Well, I'll try but that'll be tomorrow since it's 11:38PM in our place. Sometimes, I hear the morse code you were talking about especially when the GPU changes from a "intensive workload" to an "idle state". What would get rid of that again? Turning bluetooth ON or OFF?

Yeah, pretty much. But just for a few seconds. That seems long.
I noticed that the "grinding" noise went away with the Bluetooth on but not the Whinning noise though. Does RMClock have a permanent fix to get rid of the grinding noise? Because the bluetooth won't stay on after restarting the laptop. -
the whining noise was the fan because i had to have my video camera right next to the computer like below. i cant hear the sound unless my ear is almost touching the computer.

T_T I wish I had the nvidia sticker on my M860TU...

I had the same problem and it was solved by updating the BIOS to the latest version.

Well, my BIOS is updated but still has the noise.
@Sov Sun
The noise isn't coming from the PSU itself, it's coming from the area where the CPU is located.
@MrDJ
How were you able to say that it is the fan? I thought this noise was the CPU whinning? Theriko told me that a long time ago. -

What I'm saying is that the whining is coming from your CPU and GPU and it is perfectly normal. Your PSU probably whines too, but for the sake of staying on topic, the sound that you are hearing on the right side of your laptop is your CPU and GPU.

I had this same problem before. After updating to the newest bios avail., the noise is gone.

Yeah, I believe so. Maybe try to update the bios one by one instead of jumping to the newest one.

That's what I exactly did.

the only sound i have is the morse code and as far as we know its the cpu and not just in the m86tu but many computers. -

kevindd992002. If my 120W PSU can handle an overclocked QX9300 and GTX 280M, then your 120W PSU can handle your P9500 and 9800M GTS just fine.
CPU whine is different with each CPU model and each CPU sample. Each chip has it's own sweet spot for whinining at a certain voltage and current. This also goes for the GPU and the power supply. Again, this is perfectly normal and has been around ever since the invention of silicon electronics. -

In my experience, I've seen plenty of Dell and HP laptops that produce those electronic noises.
-
I've seen a wide range of laptops saying this whining noise. HP, Acer, Dell, Toshiba, Zepto, Clevo, Compal... you name it, i've seen them saying this

I read that disabling C4 will "potentially" fix this infamous whinning noise. The problem is RMClock doesn't detect my chipset.
