M860TU Windows7 Issues

OK so i get the following prob trying to install drivers for windows7

---Intel Wi-Fi Link 5300AGN (802.11a/b/g/n) Driver for Windows VISTA 32/64 BIT & XP 12.2.00
```This installation is not supported on this operating system version. The setup application will exit.

---Intel Management Engine Interface Driver for Windows VISTA 32/64 BIT & XP

---Matrix Driver fro Windows VISTA 32/64 BIT 8.2.0.1001
```This computer currently contains driver version 8.6.0.1007 which is newer than 8.2.0.1001

Also now installing the Drivers from
http://74.212.252.103/pages/notebooks/download.cfm?ProductType=8662

beside the above ones that dont work.. i now get a error on every start up.


M2.0409 has stopped responding.


And my long running issues (that was on both Vista and Win7 64bit.. of sleep mode not always working and often restarting randomly (not being able to enter or return from sleep (it alternates)... has continued to take place.

My Warrenty for my M860tu is almost over!!! i need this Fixed ASAP.. do you guys think this is a Software or Hardware issue?

IM really worried atm this is useless as a mobile laptop with no sleep mode!


(im using Build 7100 of win 7... but same sleep issues happend with Vista 64bit which i upgraded to Win7 not fresh install)

You don't need to download any drivers for the M860TU/Windows 7.
The only thing you would need are your video drivers and the fingerprint program if you wish to use it.

 

hey heathkid i had some of that same issues with my np8660 as far as the random restarting and sleep problems. I dont know if my sleep issue is the same as yours but I figured out that it would randomly wake up from sleep because of the wireless mouse i had plugged in. I was able to fix it in device manager. My computer also used to randomly restart, I sent it back into xotic and they ended up replacing my motherboard, this fixed the random restarts and I haven't had an issue since. Hope this helps

 

my sleep issue seems to be not just waking up but a actual restart/when returning or entering sleep mode..

so it is a hardware issue as i suspected.. ill talk to P4laptops about it.

 

You said you upgraded to Windows 7 as opposed to a fresh install. It would have been a better idea to do a fresh install to be sure. Not only that but upgrades are always asking for trouble in my opinion.

What GPU drivers are you using?

If you think this is a hardware error and your warranty is almost up, you should definitely contact them as soon as possible.

 

Where are you getting those drivers from? I suggest simply downloading all of them from the Intel site... worked for me.

 

OP, use the drivers from Intel's PROSet wireless suite (uninstalling any you have now)

and chipset and matrix and hotkeys and audio and touchpad and...
unless you prefer minimal functionality, typically yes, you do need to download drivers for Win7. In fact, contrary to the quoted, video drivers are now one of the things you don't need to download.
