Hey, I was just wondering how this notebook runs if you use XP.

I want to dual or triple boot and I was thinking of ordering the 'no OS' customization and then install XP and Linux on it.

I noticed that Eurocom has a support site in which you can install XP (and Vista, of course) drivers.

So, if you use XP on yours, what is your experience?

    Thanks.

I use XP and I certainly have no complaints. Especially compared to my old Zepto laptop from 2005. Definitely an improvement.

I was thinking of dual booting with Ubuntu since I got an Ubuntu CD with my purchase but haven't tried it yet.

    That's good to know, thanks!

I believe the only issue with Ubuntu you'll have would be the wireless. Try Intrepid Ibex or the Kubuntu (KDE) version. It uses kernel 2.6.27 and it might be okay but if not, I would use a wireless usb adapter for the time being. There are reports of issues with the Intel 5100 and 5300 wifi chips/cards but it's supposed to be fixed in kernel 2.6.28. You might be lucky and it might work, though, but I just thought I'd let you know what you can expect (anything that works is a bonus).

I believe the rest will eventually work after install or configuration.

Ah, thanks for info! I haven't dabbled in linux since Redhat 6.2 back in 2000 so I'm not up to date with the technicalities but I'll definitely keep this in mind.

Please get back to us with your dual boot experience once you've had the chance to try it out :)

I suspect this laptop with XP would be super fast. Because a friend of mine has a 2.0 Core Duo and XP flies for her.

Me, I just like pretty, so I'm sticking with Vista 64 like the basTAD I am :)
