    Hey guys.

My little bro recently bought GH3 and i decided to install it on my laptop and give it a whirl. Upon playing, i found that every 10-15 seconds the framerates are droping from 50's ( on 1920 x 1200 res) to 40 and then recovering. When this happens however, the game freeze/spikes for a 1/4-1/2 second (which is really bothersome) and wont stop doing this.

Im running the m860tu , p9500, 4 Gb 1066, 7K2 320 gig HD and 9800m GT. I have tried to use the newest drivers from laptop video 2 go (180.47) and the stock clevo drivers. Both experience this.

I have also monitored my gpu and cpu clocks with gpuz and cpuz, neither are droping when this happens. Maybe these programs are unreliable?

Can anyone help me fix this/have any ideas?

    Thanks!

Possibly its just that part of the game that is intensive? Try lowering the settings a bit to see if it does it than.

Put on lowest settings, still happens every 10-15 seconds.

Hm, yeah that definitely shouldn't be happening.
Is your laptop itself set on High Performance? Not power saving or anything?

Yes, i have made sure it is not set on power saver, i am also using windows XP.

I have monitored my cpu and gpu clocks while playing and when the frame rates drop, the clocks stay constant at the right values.

I have tried the 1.3 patch, no luck. Still stutters.

i find it weird that my laptops 9800m GT which out performs my desktop 8800 GT on all games, is running it with stutters where as my desktop is not.

SO!!! I figured it out. I finally gave up on all my trying to fix this issue and reinstalled the game. I also wiped my vid card drivers and used drive cleaner pro in safe mode to make sure i got rid of it all. I then reinstalled the stock drivers and tested the game. The game is now running perfectly on max setting, 1920x1200 with 60 fps constant. (before i reinstalled the game, i wiped the drivers and then tested the game, still stuttered. it did not stop until i reinstalled the game .)

I think that the 1.3 patch i applied messed up the game, seeing as the clean install of the stock 1.0 has no flaws/problems.

    Congrat's on fixing it.
Sounds like an error or something occurred when you installed the game the first time.
Take care and have fun with the game!
