Which of these to options would better be suited for gaming?
    A)M860Tu W/ 4 GB ram and Vista
    B)M860Tu W 2GB ram and XP

If Vista then does it matter which vista OS u get I know u need the 64 bit version.

2 GB and XP, or 4 gb and Vista 64...
I`d go for XP, since it`s still the fastest Gaming OS.

If possible I would get 3gb for xp, I'm thinking about upgrading my system to 3gb, because a lot of my accounting software is really sucking it all up. Course I'm also thinking about selling my laptop lol.

everyone is different so you will get options from both sides.
if your going to spend that much money on a laptop then its always best to go for the max 4gb ram.
vista 32bit will only use a max of 3.1gb ram but 64bit will use it all.
even though i dont like vista that much ive still ordered mine with vista 32bit.
if you go for 64bit then there are still quite a lot of hardware that is still not compatible so its worth checking first ie,broadband providers, printers etc.

Who can ever use 4GB of RAM. I use a round 1GB, maybe 1.5GB max. Except if you do some crazy video montage, I would be surprised you could use 4GB. But anyway, I went for that personally :p

isnt it true that vista is ram hungry?

im using a fujitsu at the moment with 2gb ram and its already used 1.1gb

when i finally upgrade to 64bit in a year or two im getting 8gb ram :p :p

Well...it eats more RAM than XP, uses around 1GB. That's why everyone recommends at least 2GB of RAM. And if you had more, what's the point of that, I mean, how can you actually use 4 or 8GB of RAM :p

I think the max amount of RAM that can be used depends on 32-Bit oder 64-Bit of the Operating System. 32-Bit OS can only use 3 to 3,5 GB of RAM as far as I know.
