Hi Guys,
Noticed that in some games my load times were becoming really long in comparison to others playing the game such as in L4D the game started sometimes before i'd joined. And when i turned on my computer it seemed to take ages to turn on, + my hard disk has been getting really hot recently due to the ambient temp, its generally between 55 - 60.
So i did a HD Tune test and got the result below. Is this normal or not? Should i be calling up Rock and asking questions?
Especially as on the test i did before for the last ~20% the speed slowed to 1 -3 MB/s although this may have just been something else asking the hard disk for time.
Thanks
DK

benchmark seems about right for a 2.5" 7200rpm drive.

Argh such a fool, forgot to check fragmentation, friend reminded me and I had quite a bit of fragmentation seems like that was it. Thanks gophn.
Cheers

I think those extreme's were other programs asking for HD time and ofc this slowed the read / write speeds for HD Tune. I did it again getting rid of a lot of the other programs and it was fine apart from one large drop, CPU usage was also far lower 5.3% (+ it was in power saver mode the first time as i'd quit RM Clock and it had automatically gone to power saver without me realizing, DOH!).
Cheers All, sorry for being a fool

Fragmentation is a Hard Drive User's worst enemy, make sure to check your drive for fragmentation!
Ugh, that very same thing happened to me when I installed RMClock, hah, I noticed a sudden slow-down in performance. -
My experience is the first big dip you get is often your antivirus checking out HDtune for suspicious activity, but after that you had some pretty extreme swings...

Ye, it seems fine now though, power saver mode didn't exactly help, i doubt the fragmentation was it at all tbh as it wasn't THAT great, i suspect it was pretty much all the power saver mode...

So what does it look like now?

Ran it twice and i got the ones below, the dips are less extreme, but it isn't that different to the original looking at it. The one i ran earlier after going to high performance was better.
The actual performance, load times etc is better but i'm sure thats just the high performance vs power saver.
