    Hi

I've got the chance to buy a GSkill Titan 256GB SSD for a very good price and wondered if you guys could tell me if the M860TU is SATAII?

    Thanks in advance

I know some resellers are offering SSD's (in the M860tu) but I'm not sure if they're all II, PM a reseller on this forum, email them, call one, and you will find out for sure.

Heck, call/email the company you bought your m860tu from and ask them if that specific SDD is compatible with your notebook ;)

Since This Topic is open I had a question
The Sata III spec that is coming out soon.
I read its compatible with current cables and interfaces.
Does this mean that current notebooks with the sata interfaces could run a sata III drive at 6Gbits a sec or would they only run it at Sata II speeds aka 3Gbits a sec.
I havent read anything on this but I was curious if anyone knew.

They would only run it at 3Gb/s, just like sata I computers can run sata II drives at 1.5Gb/s

I know some websites fall behind with updating this type of detail but the last I checked my wife's Sony FW is advertised as SATA I. At the same time so is the Alienware M17 but current owners have proved it is SATA II. I'm not sure what to believe anymore. Is there a technical reason that the Montevina notebooks use SATA II?
