Ive used my M860tu in a number of OS enviroments from Vista 32.. 64.. to Windows 7 Beta to Windows 7 Rc

with many drivers and software configs running

However i still cant get sleep mode working 100% of the time.. every now and then closing the lid will make it just restart while its trying to go into sleep mode..

Could there be some thing wrong with my hardware? my warrenty only has a month or so left.

    I really want this fixed!

Now I'm not 100% sure seeing as my 8662 is currently being built in SoCal. But I believe that there's a power saving option in Win7 (as probably vista) entitled "What happens when the lid closes", perhaps that setting just got twiddled around?

I noticed this on a Dell Laptop running Win7, so maybe its a Dell thing, not part of the OS, but either way, its worth it seeing if there's a similar power saving option on the M860TU. Hope this has potential to help.

    its set to sleep

its just like 20% of the time it restarts :(

its really bad for mobility :_( .... mabye its some of the devices i have plugged into it..

2 USB soundcards.. 1 USB Wacom Tablet 1 USB PSP 1 Steelseries Mouse(driver suport could be only vista)...

For a while i realised the restarting issues (when it was 100% of the time).. was due to Hacked GFX card drivers... but now im all clean and it should be Sleeping 100% of the time but still some things effecting it..

Note (before i started using the 2 USB sound cards i had the same prob so i feel they are not the cause).. and even with every thing unplugged it still some times restarts :(

could my lid senser be faulty or my Powersuply or some thing?

Really want to get this fixed before im stuck with it for the remaining life of hte laptop.

Somethings wrong there. My m860tu always sleeps whenever I put down the lid in battery mode, just how I want it to.

when I had vista 64 installed mine would go to sleep when it was supposed to for a while then it started to just stay on when the lid was closed. I had my options set to go to sleep when the lid closed but it just wouldn't. So whenever I wanted the lid closed I just hit Start-Sleep then closed the lid.
So then after my Sony video camera software caused Vista to completly crash I installed Win 7 and Haven't had a single issue since.
I'm not sure what the problem was but it was frustrating as hell. I tried changing those options like 30 different times to no avail.
So I don't really know what to reccomend as you said you have tried different OS's. But hopefully the info might be useful in narrowing it down.
