    Hi All,

Was wondering if you could provide a bit of help regarding the sound on my Clevo M860tu.

Recently, my M860tu with Windows 7 (64bit) (spec in sig) has had very crackly audio, and whenever the audio crackles, the mouse and all other processes lag. The crackling happens very randomly, sometimes this happens all of the time from when I turn the computer on, sometimes it is whenever I demand the computer do some processing e.g. Opening a new tab on the web browser or an explorer window, and sometimes not at all. Sometimes it also happens when no audio is playing, the mouse etc lag and jump around...Restarting the computer over and over until it is gone is all I can do.

I have just reinstalled windows, and it is still happening (even now as I write this). Before reinstalling I have tried updating the drivers for both the creative (see below) and realtek cards, reinstalling the drivers, changing the audio quality settings, disabling sound enhancements etc...

This happens regardless of whether I have my Creative X-Fi 5.1 Surround Sound Card plugged into the computer or not.

I would be extremely grateful if you could provide some help for my problem as this, as you can imagine is extremely annoying!!! I tried calling up Rock, the manufacturers, and they asked me to try a few things which didn't work and could only suggest taking the laptop in, which I would rather not do but...may not have a choice eventually I guess if a solution cannot be suggested here.

    Regards,

    DK

P.S. Thank you for any help you can provide in advance!

I have had a simular problem with my Clevo M571TU, it ended up being the nvidia graphic drivers. I also had a problem with flash, it would crash my computer when playing more than one youtube video.

Fortunatally there was a new graphics card driver and that worked fine, the last three nvidia drivers have given me problems, but the latest seems fine.
