Hi got my new M860tu today and i need some help
Can anyone tell me why my cpu is at 1.6 ghz?
And my gpu is also downclocking? is it possible to turn it off?
thanks

It's a power saving mode. When the CPU/GPU are not under sufficient load, they'll downclock to save battery life. Go into a game and then check your speeds again, they should be normal.
Other than that, make sure you're not on power saver mode or silent mode. -
but cant i turn it off? im never using battery only so i dont really need it.
Btw im on XP, where do i see power modes? -
Its a feature built into just about all cpu's you might be able to use rmclock and disable the lower multipliers, but all your going to do is make sure your cpu is running as hot as possible. Theres no point in locking your cpu at max speed, the cpu multiplier increases when its needed. Use a monitor program and launch a bunch of internet windows and you will see it jump up each time you open a window.
