    Hi guys,
Just a quick question,i need feedback from someone who shares my same configuration.

    My m860tu currently is equipped with a 9800m gt ddr3 and an x9100@3,60ghz (oced,266x13,5@1,278v).
With the gpu at 600/1500/950 and the cpu oced i score 11,980 3dmarks06.

Im currently thinking to upgrade my gpu to a gtx260m.

Is worth the upgrade? How much should i expect in performance gain?

Im kinda puzzled because the cards are similar with a small difference in shaders (96 vs 111 right?).
    Hows the heat?
Im satisfied with the 9800m gt,my games runs good at 1680x1050 with a range from 35-56 (avp, nfs shift,mw2).

Well just this. If anyone can help ill appreciate.
    Thanks in advance!

    I think the 260m has 112 shaders, not 111.

You could probably get a 280m around $400. You might be able to sell your 9800m for $300.

    So I would look for a 280m.

How much is the 260m you're looking at?

BTW you can get an FX 3700M for around $200, which would be better than your 9800m GT and you might even make some money. Problem with the 3700M is that it doesn't overclock as well as a 280m.

EDIT: At least $250 for your 9800m GT:

    280m under $400:

    Thats a matter of opinion...

I'd say no its not at all worth the extra what 300$?? 400 euro is not the same as 400usd
If you want an fx 3700m in europe however I would be able to help you out price wise while keeping customs and safe shipping in mind ;)

    EDIT:
GTX 260m is almost identical to the 9800 gtx, think about it that way. its a fair amount of difference and they overclock better, the major hardware difference here is 55nm vs 65nm fabrication.
fx 3700m is not 55nm but has 128 shaders which is even more than the gtx 260m. its definitely the best card around for the given interface and price.

If we're talking about $500 to upgrade from a 9800m GT to a 280M, I wouldn't really go for it.

I doubt there would be a big enough difference in any game to justify $500.

What I would do is maybe buy a new notebook with a GTX 480M when it is available.
I'm sure sager will come out with a new 15" notebook with usb 3.0 and a 480M pretty soon.

Thats what i was thinking, i mean, im pretty happy of the scores of my system and it runs games perfectly,$500 for a gtx 280m maybe isnt worth the jump..
This taking in account my cpu which runs at 3,60ghz stable with reasonable temps (around 83c,max 91 with gpu oced).
    Thanks guys.
