    Hey all
I have had my m860tu for quite a while now. Amongst some minor problems with my hard drive and operating system, my number one issue with the machine is the keyboard. It is very hard to type on since the spacebar is not as responsive as I would like. This is where my question comes from:
Are keyboards in 15 inch machines of a standardized size? In other words is it possible for me to purchase a keyboard from another company, or maybe even an aftermarket one which works better and fits in the same space? I do not think that I got a faulty keyboard, I believe that it is just the design.
What would be EXTREMELY great would be putting the backlit keyboard from a dell or something like that into the m860tu. Is that possible?
    Regards

I'm afraid the keyboards are clevo specific, so changing it would not be possible. How unresponsive is the space bar as I have no problem with mine (M570RUU, but similar kbd)?

To put it in one word it is "ridiculous." It is so unresponsive that it takes me twice as long to type anything because I have to actually move my thumb into a spot on the space bar that actually registers (the far left side, which is problematic because i have always used my right thumb to press the space bar.)
That is too bad! I think it would be awesome if I could get a backlit KB for this beast.

i didnt say you bought anything.i said i wonder which company you might have bought it from if you could get another make of keyboard meaning alienware backlit keyboard.

and sort out the rest was also refering to the alienware m15x which has had and still got major issues.

My spacebar has never had a problem. Have you tried removing then reseating the keyboard.

Mine responds to my touch from whichever side I press it. I mostly use my right hand.

Anyone else having this problem? I'm looking into it but would hate to get a dodgy spacebar.
