    Hey all,

So I own a sager m860tu notebook that is relatively decked out. It has 4 Gbs ram and 2.5GHz processor, but for some reason it has been going very slowly for the past 2 days or so.

    Things that occur to me:

I installed windows 7 on a new partition of the drive, but I do not think that that would effect the speed of the other partition.

It is possible that there are tasks running in the background that I am not aware of.

    Virus?

I am no expert on this, so I was hoping that someone would have some ideas. I do not think that the laptop should perform this slow considering its age and specs.

    Thanks

I left more than enough room for the vista partition. 265 gigs for he vista partition and 35 for the windows 7.

what GFX card drivers are u using with windows7?.... use 185.20 Works like a charm.

laptopvideo2go. Just select the latest vista ones on the right... be it 32 or 64 bit dep on your Win7 install even thou they are windows vista drivers they pick up win7 and change the config for it.

Well something weird happened an hour ago. I installed a video game and restarted my computer. Since I installed it on my Vista partition, I tried to go back onto Vista to play it. Will NOT log back into Vista. At all. No safe mode or anything, even after letting it run the drive checks. I get a very quick flash of a BSOD and then it restarts, giving me a message that windows has run into an unexpected shutdown.
What I am getting at is that maybe the lappy was running slowly because things were starting to go badly on that drive. Over on this 7 partition it is lightning quick, so at least I will be able to recover my files from here.
Next question is, is there any way to completely erase or reformat only ONE partition? For instance, can I wipe my C:/ drive without touching the windows 7 part?
