Depends on how much you regard prettiness over functionality. Like I know girls who would get the mx15 just for those aesthetic reasons you just provided and since the specs are within the desired range (not the closest but basically anyone getting one or the other has specific tasks only a notebook like these can provide) wouldn't care about paying the higher price.

However, if you are a functionality man like myself, and definitely if you know you are going to be using this for business and carrying it all over the place, get the M860TU, nothing says immature like a glowing green alien on the chassis of your laptop. Plus, people are going to want to steal it and not even know why. (science has proven that nice flashy things tend to call out to individuals to take it from the original owner by any means necessary).

by the time m860tu release, both system will have montevina, so it shouldn't be a concern. the major advantages of m860tu are price, build quality and customer support. you don't want to sent it for repair over a month, do you?

I am interested in this as well. I want a really powerful 15.4" notebook BUT I will take excellent build quality and longetivity over the latest and greatest hardware. I don't necessarily need the best hardware crammed in my 15.4" notebook, I also want it to last a while with no problems. I hope the M860tu will have good cooling so that there are no major problems.

Everyone keeps saying that Sager build quality is better than Asus, is that true?

I would say that the M860TU will probably have better build quality than the M15X as the majority of Clevo laptops tend to be. Clevo are also renowned for having very good cooling systems in their laptops whereas the Alienware M15X has had overheating troubles and also problems with the chassis cracking due to overheating.

The build quality of Sager laptops varies slightly from laptop to laptop as they do not source all of their laptops chassis from the same manufacturer. Their main chassis manufacturer, Clevo who will make the M860TU, will probably have similar, probably better build quality to ASUS who make their own laptops.

this is weird coming from me but choose the M860Tu.. the only reason i got the m15x is that i wasnt patient enough to wait for the m860Tu and also so i can play games at a really dark room (the lighting keyboard)... the clevo is a great notebook and of course, should be no problem with your budget.

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS; it support the new 9 series which will make it a very cooling notebook~~

also thinking of getting one for myself :D

i'll give the m15x to my lil bro .. since he always mesmerized by the lighting keyboard, its like hypnotize... :p

I dont think AW will upgrade the mobo until next year, so it will be Santa rosa on the m15x for a while yet.
they have always stayed a step behind on the mobo / proc ladder.
but thats just reading history, you never know :)

if it looks the AW looks amazing but not to everyone

I think the clevo will be smaller, with a thinner bezel around the screen.

plus the clevo isnt out yet ;)

Both are equally likely to support the card, as they both have the MXM-HE connector
