    I thought I would make one since I may get one soon and I just want to know if anyone else has theirs on order... I didn't think it was right to call it "Official" since I dont know if that has to be declared by a mod or something...

    It also says NP9850 with better specs...

    Sorry I don't know a lot about warranty... Some really nice specs you got there. How much does your config cost?

    havent ordered mine yet... still deciding between this and m17x but i am talking to kaltmond because he has a pre-production he is telling me what it is like... i am probably going to go with this... just checking on a few things before i do... also i found this:
    http://www.zagg.com/
    I submitted the M980NU because people said it will be easily scratched... may purchase something if they can offer it... will this prevent fingerprints?
    EDIT: umm they sent me an email saying that if there is enough demand they may ask for me to ship a m980nu out there (if i get one that is) so please submit it:
    http://www.zagg.com/hotgadgets/index.php
    Device:
    Laptop
    Brand:
    Other = Clevo
    Model:
    Other = M980NU
    enter your name and email address and that is it!!! they wont send junk so dont worry... they will send you one email...

    So, what is Kaltmond saying about his Clevo? Is overclocking possible with it? Also how's the quality of the LCD screen? I'm used to my XPS's 1920 x 1200 res so I like crisp.

    Thanks. :)

    Yes it has unlocked FSB overclocking and he loves the LCD... It also has northbridge voltage controls... He thinks the Multiplier will be unlocked in future bios...

    If you send your laptop back for repair, and the techinicians find out that one of it's components is broken, like the LCD display, the parts warranty will cover the price of the replacement component for you. Labor refers to the technicians work itself... If you didn't have labor warranty, you would have to pay Sager the amount of time their technicians spend on repairing your laptop.

    im in this thread cuz i made it... dont talk to me like that.

    alright here is the bad news:

    someone (not kaltmond) has a pre-production M980NU and it has a newer bios and he doesnt have any overclock features...

    It doesn't matter. It still doesn't justify witholding information that can be better deduced with public assessment.

    That doesn't sound too good. I have a feeling that kaltmond's prediction may be correct and Clevo will forego native FSB overclocking and unlocked voltage for restricted multiplier overclocking.

    A better way to find out if it might make it in the final production model is to find out what bios kaltmond has vs the person of whom you can not speak of bios revision.

    The newer one might be more likely to make it into final production though this is all just Speculation still.

    Regardless, kaltmond has already given us concrete insight into the BIOS that will be loaded on release date. It makes sense that Clevo would allow multiplier overclocking up to 1.5x. It would have been farfetched for Clevo to enable FSB overclocking on a Core 2 machine.

    ROTFLAMO

    ;)

    Sad news for the 9850 :( no unlocked multipliers or FSB in BIOS....The NB voltage control is what was gonna give it the edge over the M17x.

    Still a rocking machine though

    That is a little too harsh. There are any number of reasons why someone might not be able to fully disclose some information they got from someone else, either because of their own obligations, or because of the confidentiality obligations of the person who gave them the information. Bifnewman doesn't seem to be playing poser in the thread, so absent any evidence to the contrary, there's no need to go jumping on him (her?) for playing the tease now.

    That's a good sign, I still don't think the release BIOS will have anything other than unlocked multiplier settings for extreme chips, but hopefully they try to compete with AW and include FSB and even voltage settings.

    It's all good, Shyster1. I play this card all the time on people see who squeals and who doesn't. One could call it a test. Nevertheless, I got what I needed to hear from bifnewman.
