this morning the big pig(our name for the BFG Diemos) would not boot up. the back light came on. so I decided to dissect the issue. took it down to removing and reseating the Memory and processor. the best I got was the screen running through the primary and secondary colors. Anyone have any ideas?

Hooking up to an external monitor, or TV, will tell us a lot about the seriousness of the situation.

    Try it out.

Try the ol disconnect from all, disconnect battery and hold power button for 30 seconds. Hook it all back up and see what you get.

It sounds to me like the videocard may be dead. You might be able to replace it or bake it. All up to you though, BFG is toast.

I got this and 3 others for free pulling them from the trash during the BFG bankruptcy. HUGE score for me.

This is why I was asking, if it's MXM 2.1 then the maximum is GTX 280M. If it's MXM 3, then you have alot of choices (up to 6990M) but then none of these new cards are guaranteed to work probably at 100%. I don't remember what was the MXM for that old man.

Turns out it was not the card after all. After reseating the 280 it was fine. The 285 I tested was from eurocom as well.
