I don't know what is going on, but when I first got this notebook, my user account was always lock and even when I remove the password, it would not remember next time. I could not put this computer on standby because it would lock me from using th computer even though if I shut down the computer, I would be able to go into my window screen without a problem. My computer password is remove, and in fact when I got this computer, there was already password protected, and is the only reason I had to put my own password in.
Malibal support told me to use a new account which work but that would mean all the games progress i made, all my works files, and music files would need to be replace and that was very annoying.
However yesterday after turning on my computer, it said my window 7 CD was not geniune, and I call microsoft and they help me out, gave me quite a scare in fear of losing all my works files which could not be read on a non geniune window 7 version.
I been using the notebook today and everything is well but now I turn on my computer and all the icon on my desktop is missing. My desktop background is missing and all the landscape tools won't show on my desktop. Basically it a blank solid black screen that can't even add any wallpaper to it. All my icon are missing, windows 7 look like windows 98 as shown with the ugly looking taskbar. All my Itunes music is gone, all my games and games files is gone, and all my web browser (Google Chrome) is gone.
This is a serious issue and I'm already thinking of senting the notebook back or a pernament solution quick because I can't even trust the files I save on this notebook to be secure.
I feel like someone is hacking into my account because I have not done anything to this notebook that would warrant such massive files corruption/lost.
Window 7 cusomter support will not help me because my disk is OEM so I have to deal with Malibal and Clevo and this is why I am also annoy by that. I need Malibal to reply to this thread.
I was wondering has anyone experience this with their Malibal notebook?
SO FRUSTRATING, all my save files are gone. Every game I play, all the files are GONE!!!

Not too well-versed in those types of difficulties but the problems seem to lie primarily within the OS. Has there been any hardware malfunctions or difficulties that would indicate fault with the notebook itself?

It sounds like either:
1) Dying hard drive
2) Non Genuine Windows install that dropped you out to basic mode.
3) You're not logged in to your account
Can you try looking that you're on the correct account, and if not, checking under C:/Users/yourname to find your files? Also check that Windows is active and genuine under My computer/properties. Finally, if that doesn't sort it, try check disk to see if you've got a failing drive.
EDIT: What did you mean it was password protected before you got it? What account have you been using? -
My user account is default, it just say administrative. How do I try check disk? -
Right click the hard drive (C:\) -> properties -> tools -> error checking
-
There are also some viruses that hide all of your files, go into folder options (in control panel) and check 'show hidden files/folders/etc' and uncheck 'hide protected operating system files' and see if your files are there. If they are then you have a virus.
-
You can both do the checkdisk within Windows as mentioned (to see if there is a problem with the filesystem) and do a hard drive diagnostic in the BIOS (to see if there is a general failure on the part of the drive). You aren't getting errors or crashes that would often suggest a problem with the ram, but certainly it could be an issue with the hard drive - which just sometimes die even after passing tests earlier.
-
He just needed to activate windows, the problem has been resolved.
-
Hmm, it's all about asking the right question I suppose. When I've done virtual testing with non-activated Win7 vhd's normally it pops up and tells you that activation is required within a certain period or else function will be limited.
That was a pretty speedy resolution. Kudos.

Sounds more like a hardware failure to me..
Try opening the command prompt and type
chkdsk /r /f
then restart your computer so that it will boot into checkdisk. -
I've encountered similar problems in the past where incorrect chipset drivers were installed. This meant that incorrect sata controller drivers were also installed. This caused my SATA controller to corrupt files on my hard drive.
My solution was to format my hard drive and install clean chipset drivers from the driver CD. -
I would personally try formatting and reinstalling Windows. At least that way you can have a better guess at if it's a hardware issue. If the problems persist and you do a standar install, it might be time to check the RAM, etc.
As mentioned earlier in the thread, it could possibly be a virus. I've seen them do worse/weirder than what you describe.
Do you know how to back up your files? -
Maybe the Sysprep'd image from Malibal had a funky Admin/Default User's profile. Check under "User's" and see if it is creating a Temp profile for you. Make sure to show hidden files and folders. Try creating a new ADMIN profile with a different name and delete whatever profile your current using. (move you data first to your new profile) To delete an profile properly in Win7 do the following:
1. Go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Systems (or right click on “Computer” and then click on Properties.
2. Click on Advanced System Settings from the left side panel.
3. Click Advanced Tab and under User Profiles click Settings
4. Click on the profile you are had been using and click on Delete…
This may not be related to your problem. But it does sound like the "Default Profile" may be corrupted to create a new Default Profile can be a bit tricky, but can be done. Let us know if you make any progress. Good luck. -
Thanks -
Just Right click over your system HD > Properties > Tools > error checking > check now
I think It will require you to restart your machine and do the scan before the OS load. -
Please do as others have said check the drive via Windows checking tools and report back to us with results. -
-
-
You should definitely reinstall the OS in that case.
-
Yeah, a suggestion is to backup important items you have then reinstall your OS.

Oh, just wanted to throw out another option, in case the reinstall of the OS doesn't go through. try downloading HDTune (the free, personal version is good) which will display the S.M.A.R.T. info of the drive, it may be able to tell if it is dying or not.
-
I do believe it is the OS as well and I was hoping there was an easier solution since I now have to re-install everything I downloaded before. May I ask you if you think the OS is responsible for games and music? What I mean is sometime Itune radio work for me and sometime games on Steam work for me and sometime it doesn't.
Also I had to shut down my computer 5 times and restart it for it to have the right window for me. Sometime it would lock me out when I start up my computer and someone it would have a blank solid non Window 7 screen and I have to shut down or restart my computer again hoping it the correct window. I really hope this is just an OS problem and nothing more. -

Did you run memtestx86?
Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic -
Why not send the laptop in to Malibal? You paid for the warranty, might as well use it.
