MALIBAL Orders during Black Friday offers

I ordered my P150HM from MALIBAL on Nov 28th and still waiting for the shipping notification (I received e-mail today that it might be shipped next week due to unexpected delay which is understandable)

I saw few posts for people with the same situation, so I thought to start this thread so anyone can share her/his order shipping progress and the first impression once you get your laptop!

So to start by myself:

Shipping to: Canada
Order date: Nov 28th (I was told that my order in on the build queue)
Processing notification: Nov 28
1st Update: Dec 7, unexpected delay (estimated shipping next week approx. Dec 12)

Notified: P150HM chassis delayed till early next week at least due to shortage.

 

I order mined on the 25th and they said they will ship it by this week or so.
they were scheduled to ship out TODAY but i guess there will be delay. nothing on my Malibal account that says delay...I can't find it... Hopefully by this week I will get it tho. To California

 

What was the Black Friday deal?

Also notified today that unless I want to change to the sleek chassis from the 151 and the glossy screen it won't ship until sometime next week.

I guess if they took tons of orders, can't really fault them for the supplier not providing enough replacements.

This order flooding goes to show how much better their Black Friday offers than the other resellers were though.

 

I agree it is not MALIBAL fault, unexpected delays always happen with other manufacturer. In fact, my ex-W520 order, which I canceled last week, was delayed two times without receiving any notification from Lenovo! (I had to call and waste time with Lenovo's sales rep)

At the moment I have unshipped order with Lenovo for "Performance Backpack" which I placed on Nov 19th and till today no sign for shipping !!! The rep told me the estimate shipping is Dec 20th!

This is a plus point for MALIBAL that they pro-actively notify customers with unexpected delays.

Waiting is the hardest part now, but when you see others in the same boat you get some patience

I've spent the last few days trying to get a status on my order and just got notified today that there will be another week's delay. At this point, I just hope to get the laptop before I leave on a 2 week trip. I had hoped ordering prior to Black Friday would help beat the rush, but apparently I waited too long.

 

Unexpected delays can happen with any reseller/manufacturer. Personally, I did not pay for the expedited build but anyways I do not think it will help in the case of supply shortage.

(On MALIBAL website they advise to check the parts availability first before you pay for expedited build)

 

If someone places an order for the 1-3 Day Rush Service and we cannot ship it out in time, we let them know right away the same day of the order, and then remove the $50 charge. Also, everyone should have received an email with a status update on their order. Omgsh I ordered mine today! It would suck if I had to still wait for it when winter break comes... T-T

 

Hi someguy01, Lotus P151HM1's are well stocked, but the matte screens are backordered until early next week - however, if you just ordered today - it shouldn't cause any real delay on your order.

 

Well, going by your sig, you ordered the P151HM. I'm pretty sure they still have the P151HM bodies still in stock. I think you're fine as far as that is concerned. Of course, there could be other shortages or just an overload of orders as well.

That's strange, I ordered on Cyber Monday and received it a week later.

 

I ordered a Mythlogic and it the 2760QM seems to be on back order for the next week or so. I'm hoping I'll at least have it by xmas...

Damn! I should have ordered on Black Friday for Xmas - my parents are going to get me the exact same spec. Arrg

 

To those asking....it's been mentioned that the specific things that are backordered (that have been identified anyway) are the 95% matte screen and the rubberized body. If you didn't ask for those, then this shortage won't impact you regardless of when you ordered.

 

I think you are wrong? i ordered STOCK matte screen and it was back ordered. you can read Malibal's post on 2nd page. not the 95% matte screen.

 

Hubris2 stop BSing us. For the P170HM the chasis is backordered. I got the stock screen.

 

Is there a delay for glossy? I ordered P151HM1 on cyber monday and it hasn't shipped. I did get an email saying it would be shipped later but it didn't say why. Just curious b/c you said it's well stocked.

 

I'm not trying to BS anybody - just trying to head off a flood of "Oh noes, I ordered a stock 151hm, is mine going to be delayed too" posts. There are some things backordered. If you ordered any of those items, it will impact your order. If you didn't order anything on backorder, this will probably actually SPEED UP your order processing, as they can't build some of the units ahead of you. I don't work for Malibal, I don't have a complete list of what they are short, but it's not everything.

 

I do not think there is a delay for glossy because MALIBAL offered replacement for the matte screen with 95% glossy in case you do not want to wait.

But maybe someone from MALIBAL can confirm this better. In any case, you can PM MALIBAL here and ask to get details about your order

 

Lucky you , did you receive your laptop already or it just shipped? Maybe you got the last 95% Matte display but anyways you have P151HM1 chassis which I think they have it in the stock.

If you got your laptop already, maybe you can share with us your first impression.

 

This is my 3rd day from ordering my Xotic 8170 and it still hasn't been processed... Told them I would cancel if it wasn't done today and here by Xmas.

I'd suggest yall do the same. It's not their fault things are backordered - but waiting a month or longer is way to ridiculous and as intelligent human beings, Malibal should not ask you to do that without giving you a significant discount on your order..

To wait a full month or longer - $100 off only seems fair.

Yes, I really don't think anyone has to realistically worry about "getting it by X-mas" yet. I'm pretty sure the big resellers have a history of upgrading shipping to faster methods when long delays come into play. As long as it ships by the 17th or 18th, I really don't see X-mas being a problem.

 

Def will be here by Christmas, but I might be mad if its not here next week! 3 weeks is plenty time I say.
p.s: 17th and 18th are sat, sun, def dont expect to ship them out then

 

errr.. I mean the Monday and Tuesday after next Friday, the 19th and 20th. Calendar fail.

 

I have no idea what's backordered lol or how to check that, except for what's noted in the thread or if they were to tell me via email. It's supposed to ship by today, per the email I got, so hopefully I'll get the tracker email today!

 

Backorder means that some of the components are out of stock, in the current situation the shortage is in P150HM chassis and the 95% Matte screen.

You should be OK, if your configuration does not include one of these items

 

Hey Guys, I got the same email, but as my wire transfer already got delayed for them to recieve because of holidays in my side

I had to go with the black matte body + free upgrade to Glossy 95% (great deal, coming from stock!)

By the way guys, what is the difference between the black matte body and the stock 150HM body????

Anyone knows?....I accepted to do it anywaysss (~_~)

 

The black matte body is plastic finish same as P151HM1 and the stock P150HM is rubberized finish

 

hmmm, what about the quality, ist as good as the rubberized? I know the rubberized "feels" different, but the quality is what really matter for me...

Rubber kicks plastics via no cracking.

 

I would also expect some delays soon due to the hard drive problem. That problem is not expected to get better until next quarter.

If you drop a plastic case - it's going to have the potential to crack. If you drop a rubber case, it's probably going to bounce a bit.

Given, i've never compared the two. That's just physics.

Lol I know what it means but thanks --- I didn't know what specifically had to be backordered,which you clarified. I requested neither of those, so I guess it's delayed for other reasons. I was just curious b/c user MALIBAL responded to the person who ordered yesterday to say there should be no delays for his p151hm1. So....

 

Probably referring to the flooding in Thailand, it has REALLY affected hard drive prices and availability.

I ordered the P150hm with the 95% matte screen. I'll be pretty upset if it doesn't arrive before Dec 17th as I'll be leaving town and ordered the laptop specifically for this trip. Hopefully Malibal will come through and ship with a faster method if need be to get it to me in time, they've been great thus far other than the last minute notice on the delay (got the delay email on the day I was expecting my laptop to ship).

 

everyone got the same email man, my order was processed on Friday and I still go the mail. I am hoping it ships out Monday!

 

I had the same rubberized body on the inside of my Acer Ferrari laptop. It was all carbon fiber on the outside. I can say that I like the plastic smooth surface much better than that rubber stuff .

And calm down people, when it comes, it comes. After I ordered, I just forgot about it. Was quite surprised to receive it a week later.

I would rather have the laptop be assembled with no problems than have it come earlier!

I did receive an update on my Xotic today.

Had entered the wrong shipping/address and had to switch my billing address to it on my CC. Ended up squeezing 49$ more for the expedited build to ensure I get it in time but either way, I'm sure it would have gotten there.
