Does anyone know what the heck the MEI driver is? I googled it and i think it stands for the windows management engine driver (wheres the I fit in?) but i cant seem to find out what the heck it is/does.
I'm installing my fingerprint reader drivers now that my external BD drive arrived and this was one driver i never bothered putting on the system since i didn't know what it was/did. Do i need it? What does it do? I never bothered with intel rapid storage tech either but for some reason thats on my computer now. I think windows 10 put it on by itself =P
BTW if it matters i have a Sager NP8651/clevoP650se

Basically, it does stuff. The MEI (Intel Management Engine Interface) driver interfaces with the ME (Intel Management Engine). ME provides extra chipset features and those features depend on the board you have. You don't REALLY need the MEI but I install it anyways.

Hmm is that what it does? I thought when i was googling i saw it had something to do with remote access to your computer which i defnitely didn't want. Ive been using it for a while without them so far.
If it provides important chipset features for the board it may be worth installing. Is that what it does? -
