Last week I received that big and old lappy sager np9261 which came with E6850 and 8700MGT from my cousin.
I flashed the MB bios to the latest sager version 1.00.20a and substituted E6850 with Qx9650. It works fine.
Then I decided to replace the old and weak G84.
I puchased a used MHD4850 pulled from AW m17(or Arima W840DI) and a 9800MGS from Asus W90vn.
Both are MXM version 2.1 type III-HE.
The result is not as good as I expected, no display in laptop monitor, neither.I even flashed the latest clevo version bios 1.00.22 and got no difference.
Then I pulled up the external monitor which both of them could light up.
MHD4850 shut down automatically when loading windows only to give me a chance to enter bios setup where it showed me that both parent and daughter bays were empty - the motherboard didn't recognise the ATI card at all.
9800MGS made a better stand, it worked flawlessly on my external monitor. I intalled the driver and even played games for a while until I decided to perform a vbios flash to see whether a clevo 9800MGTS vbios could bring the laptop's internal monitor back to life. And it didn't work at all - still nothing on the internal monitor and I got a flicking external monitor as a gift.
After a blind flash to get the card back, I wrote down my experience which may be helpful.
Besides, any good ideas to get the 9800MGS work on laptop monitor would be appreciated.

Not sure if this could make any difference: flash clevo 9800MGTS vbios with 9800MGS clocks.
You could also try flashing FX 2700M vbios if you think it is worth a try. -
I've tried the 9800MGTS vbios flashed with lower clocks, still no luck.
And I can't find a clevo version FX2700m vbios.
Things get complicated as my np9261 is a rev 5.x D901c other than a 6.x one.
Not sure the display issue of 9800mgs is caused by the old MB revision or the compatibility of the asus card itself.
Going to try an HP fx3700m with .10 vbios sticker. -

Well,I coundn't find a cheap sticker .10 FX3700m from local sellers.
Then I turned to FX3600m and got one with vbios version 62.92.22.00.00.
The seller claimed it was an HP card. But most HP FX3600M come with 62.92.22.00.09 vbios and
bad compatitability.
And this .00 FX3600M is very compatitable to my D901C rev5.2.
It just lighted up my built-in screen without 9800mgt vbios flash needed.
Then I performed a driver tweak to install quadro driver of FX3700M on it.(Strange that no
061D or FX3600M show up in 266.58 driver's nvcv.inf.)
It works fine now. -
Just performed some vbios flashing on FX3600M hours ago.
(1).9800MGT version 62.92.34.00.18
Built-in screen worked and I was able to OC the card to 600/1500/900 @stock 1.0v.
Raised the voltage to 1.05v, it could run at 650/1625/900 and passed furmark test.
FX3600m worked flawlessly as a 9800MGT.
(2).FX3700M version 62.92.5B.00.06(clevo vbios dumped from a FX3700m on D901C rev6.x)
No display on Built-in screen , but it worked fine on external monitor.
(3).9800MGT version 62.92.34.00.18 and Device ID/Sub vendor ID/Sub system ID changed to clevo FX3700M
I just went too far....No display on neither Built-in nor external screen. What a mess. Fortunately I got a 9800mgs right at hand. I put the 9800mgs in daughter bay and the wrongly flashed FX3600M the other. Pulled up the external moniter and flashed it back.
Conclusion: 9800MGT vbios is quite a compatible one for G92 card on D901C rev 5.x.
MHD4850 and 9800MGS tested on my D901C rev 5.2
