Just try it, it should work considering the GTX 1070 from MSI has about the same layout and does work in some clevos.

I dont even think you need to cut a lot in your case.

I bought it of a guy in France.. I have a GT80S 6QF that I can test it in to make sure it's a good one .

And if I get it done I will definitely do some standard and OC benchmarks on the strike !

Yes let us know, if this specific card works in those clevos that means a gtx 980 sli is possible in an alienware 18 due to lvds compatibility...

Wouldn't say the Viking mobo could keep 2 150-200W GPUs fed.

It can just about handle it, it does come close to the hard limit of 330w though. The dell PSU can supply up to 400w without tripping so it's definitely got the power lol. It's just the limit that dell have placed in the laptop that can cause issues.

I mean I hope it works, can you try disabling optimus and running the card directly.

If it turns on to a black screen the 980 outputs edp only.

There was a bit of plastic that I cut not a big issue was very easy but as soon as I have the GPU showing as a 980 and the benchmarks done properly then I will do a detailed step by step with pictures :) 1 thing I know is it's about 2000 points better than a stock 980m on firestrike
