    Ok
last night i was using my new to me 5793, i screwed up vista. Now my computer will not allow me into windows(it will on safe mode) I did two things that might have caused this(pretty sure its the second)
First- I installed a new updated driver for my touch pad. seemed to work with no problems.
    2. I then installed the sp1 update ( http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...952709-x86.msu) when I finished installing it it asked me to restart my computer. I did so and when it rebooted it gave me an error that the a new harware or software was installe and is not allowing vista to start. When I rebooted again it told me to reboot with my vista disk in the drive and have vista fix the problem. I did so but it said it was a start up issue and vista could not fix it.
any sugestions on how to fix this would be great.
    Thanks mike

Hmm.... if it crashed (like a random restart or BSOD), you might want to do a CHKDSK C: /F in command prompt (Run as Administrator).

I remember "failure due to hardware change" is also a BSOD message.
