Hi, yes - if you select an OS on our configuration pages, then it will be installed along with all of the drivers. We will also give you the original Windows DVD and a driver disc in case you ever need to reinstall the OS. :)

That's the key. The OS is not selected by default.

And that's the beautiful thing because often, you can buy your OS separately for much cheaper or many people already have a key.

Also, how are the heat on these things? From what I've read there's no real need for a laptop cooler, but I've been looking anyway...

Amazon.com: Targus Lap Chill Mat AWE55US (Black with Gray): Electronics

Would this be good enough, or would one of those crazy looking 80 dollar laptop coolers be a better choice.

I would like this laptop to last me quite a while.

This is the model I'm going to be purchasing: the Lotus P151HM1 with the better thermal compound and a copy of windows 7.

    Lotus P151HM1 - MALIBAL

...and last but not least, I've been reading up on dead pixels. Other resellers offer an option for like 100 bucks to make sure you get a clean screen. I notice that Malibal doesn't offer that option. Does that mean I'm automatically guaranteed a screen with no dead pixels.

Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.

You don't need a cooler. Just raise the back of the system. I use a $5 stand.

Malibal has a standard dead pixel policy. They also have a 30 day money back guarantee, so you could return it with dead pixel's regardless.

Note: I do not work for Malibal or represent them in any way. All this information came from their website. Which you should probably read if you want to be an informed consumer. Just a suggestion.
