Hey, so I received my P150HM and absolutely LOVE it. The feel of the finish, performance, physical looks, etc are just amazing(played the BF3 beta with whatever settings it auto-set to(I'm assuming high) at at least 40fps!

Anyways, I had ordered it with a hard drive caddy rather than the optical drive, and I'm having a problem getting a hard drive IN the caddy! It's as if the hard drive is too large for it... the manual just shows sliding the HD in but if I were to put the hard drive in and slide it, it just slides over the input outlet thing(I don't know the term, but someone must know what a HD goes into). Any tips/hints? I don't want to force it in at an angle, lol.

Edit: well never mind my brother managed to get it in, he said he wasn't forcing it but it sure sounded like it... ><

Ahh that was probably it. It had to be put in at a slight angle, and I just didn't want to force it in because the plastic on the caddy was making a slight sound. I didn't wanna break it but my bro fixed it lol

Edit: now to find a screw driver small enough to screw in the screws on the caddy...

And don't forget to secure the drive with the screw in the hard drive bay. (Some people seem to have trouble finding it since it's in such a strange place) :D

Haha I'm actually trying to figure that out right now! that screw doesn't seem to connect to anything... or does it?

edit: omg I'm dumb, I missed the entire package of parts that go to it... ugh

got a question regarding the caddy you got. How does it look? Is it the same color as the computer? does it stand out (people know you use your optical bay for a drive) or flush?

    thanks!

When you order through MALIBAL (and possibly the others) and select the hd caddy instead of an optical drive, the caddy comes on the side with the dvd bezel also on the side. all you need to do is remove the flat bezel from the caddy and replace with the dvd bezel and it looks great. Flush just like you have an optical drive.

yep, same color, same design. The only problem I have is that one side sticks out because the exterior part(the black part) does not connect fully to the rest of the caddy. I tried fixing it but it just doesn't stay perfect...

Mine stays pretty well. It's weird that there is only one screw on the left side though. I think you know what I'm talking about. But on the right side, there is a plastic tab that connects and it will make a "snap" sound once it connects. You have to do that. I had the same issue you do at first, but I took it out and redid and all is well :)

Where exactly is the place to screw this in? I just got my P150HM as well and although the hard drive in the caddy works fine, I've been worried it could just fall out anytime because I couldn't figure out where it screws in.

The caddy should have a small tab on the back with a screw hole (just like the optical drive did). When you slide it into place, that tab ends up under the panel that covers the main hard drive bay. Off to the side of that bay should be a single screw hole- that's where the retaining screw goes which secures the tab on the optical drive/caddy.

Mine didn't come with a tab attached, although what I think is the tab you're talking about came in a separate bag. Looks like this:

I'm not 100% sure how I'd attach this to the caddy.

Also, on another note, my laptop was shipped missing some screws (i.e. the main hard drive bay didn't have any and a couple were missing on the back panel.) What would be the protocol for handling that?

Yep, that's the piece. You'll have to screw it on to the back of the caddy, just like the one on the optical drive (if you ordered one).

Are you saying the hard drive bay cover was completely unsecured? Which back panel was missing screws- the component cover on the bottom? Since you bought it from us, open a ticket on our site about it (in sig) :)

Alright well I suppose I'll attempt to take it out and fix it again..

Also, has anyone had any issues with the display of the P150HM using a glossy screen? Since I've turned it on the first time, there's been a circular pattern which is lighter in color than the rest of the screen, and it's directly above the AC Adapter outlet, about 1 inch up the actual screen. It's not too big of a deal but I did pay a lot of $ for it, I'd prefer it to be "perfect"(it would be if it weren't for this problem)!

One more question lol.. How would someone get into the bios to change the boot order? Since I have the hard drive caddy, I was going to change from the CD/DVD drive to the regular hard drive so it loads that one... Anyone know?

    You have two options.

    1. During each boot-up, press F7 and you get a prompt to select your boot device.
    2. During boot-up, press F2 to go into Bios settings. From there you have the option to select the default order. The BIOS for Clevo P150HM gives you 10 boot options. Make sure the Network is #10. It was already #10 by default for me.

Ahh I used all the wrong keys lol. Definitely gonna have to do that once I get home from work.. in 12 hours :(

Edit: also, I've tried using Jscreenfix as well as pushing on the area for the display(Malibal recommended it through a ticket) with no luck.. Anyone know anything else?

I mean that when I turn my laptop over, only 4 out of the 10 holes for screws actually contain screws. I'll bring up a ticket about it.
