Hi Guys,
Was looking at this link below for the Malibal Satori P170OEM, so I'm saying to myself this is a Clevo P170EM?
Malibal Satori P170EM
But looking at the image above and then looking at different Clevo P170EM below, these all look different;![]()
XOTIC PC Sager NP9170 / Clevo P170EM
sagernotebook.com - Sager NP9170
So is Malibal putting it's own twist on this somehow? I thought if they are all built or customized on the Clevo P170EM, then the shells and keyboards all look the same?
For now I'm really loving the looks of the this Malibal Satori P170OEM, but not sure I want to buy from them...
Any thoughts on the differences in these shells and keyboards, what's going on here with Malibal's different looks?
THANKS

The pic is the old HM. Malibal is just trolling. But doesn't matter since you should not buy anything from Malibal.
-
Ahh so Malibal not so good... Hmm
Darn that was a sweet looking shell, but if that's false advertisment, people can end up in a law suit, so they better take it down...
Who else besides these 3 is good to buy from?
GenTech
XoticPC
mythlogic
Mythlogic also says they are not a reseller;

THANKS -
GenTech and XoticPC do not build laptops, maybe they will do so some after-market mods. LPC-Digital is another. They all sell Sager notebooks, which are built and shipped from them. The resellers handle all the CS needs, including repairs etc, they are the middlemen.
Mythlogic build their laptops, they don't sell another brands notebook, other than it being a Clevo. -
Is Mythlogic the only one building Clevo?
THANKS -
Be very careful asking questions about Malibal, people have been known to get strong-armed on the forum for it
-
It seems you don't understand the concept of reseller? Just google the definition if you need to.
As for Malibal, I believe it has been mentioned many times before of their false advertisement for the pictures they use for their notebooks. It's been like this for months and Malibal knows about it and haven't done anything about it. -
Malibal has had a lot of problems with its customer support according to this forum. They insult people and ban users off their website if they don't like them (even if they bought a laptop AND ARE UNDER WARRANTY).
The P170HM is the picture as he said, and we are currently using the P170EM. XoticPC is a fantastic reseller to go to.
And Mythlogic is correct in saying that they are not a RESELLER. A reseller (like Xotic) is a company that re-sells the machines from re-branders. I.E. Sager takes Clevo barebones and rebrands them into Sagers. XoticPC then sells Sager machines to you, among other ones (MSI, Alienware, ASUS, etc). Mythlogic does what Sager does, but does not have a reseller like Xotic with them I believe. Another good seller here that I remember is LPC digital, according to a good few users here. -
I know what Clevo and resellers are, all I said was; 'Mythlogic also says they are not a reseller' and you read to far between the lines, LOL...
So basically the question before might of been better asked if to buy like from Sager or a Sager reseller or go with someone's own Clevo rebrand like Mythlogic?
Which also meant now that we are reading far into the lines, hehe, does Sager do a better job with Clevo than Mythlogic does, or is there anyone out there that's better with Clevo building?
Cheers -

is malibal traid?
-
-
Well mythlogic certainly looks top notch.
As far Malibal is concerned, it shouldn't take a genius to figure out that if you put up fake pictures of products, then stay away! -
Malibal shoots from the hip. They threatened me with a lawsuit... twice. One time (before I realized what they were as a company) I actually promoted an upcoming product of theirs because it looked pretty awesome. Posted an image off their site here with a link to their product page and did a quick write-up on my thoughts. I was threatened with a copyright infringement (because I did a screenshot, crop, post) and they demanded I take the thread down. I was actually HELPING them. So I just asked the thread be deleted. Then later more I read about them, I provided links to other users' disgruntlement with Malibal along with some of my own opinion, and I was threatened with a libel suit. I can't speak for their products, but considering it's a Clevo I'm sure it's fine. But I wouldn't even think of looking at anything of theirs personally.
Mythlogic is the best Clevo builder out there if you want a unique Clevo model, and they have great CS. I've had a great experience with LPC-Digital for Sager branded products (they also offer servers now too.). XoticPC are also a good company to deal with, and offer Sagers as well as Asus, MSI, Alienware, etc.
My two cents. -
Although I don't go out of my way to bring attention to their maniacal customer service, I only wish I got threatened with a libel suit so I can respond by: "I'm A Syrian living in the Middle East, bring it on b****!"
-
Well HTWingNut by just trying to promote and their reactions, that's TOTAL BS!
Screw them, I smell a RAT and it stinks!
Well at this point in time, I'm still trying to figure out if I even what a Clevo build or not...
I mainly run Linux and since there's no optimus support that's going to suck.
Of course I'll set the box up dual boot, it's just that when I'm not gaming I run Linux... -
My advice is: IF you decide on Clevo do not buy from Malibal, specially if you live in Europe as you do. I lived in Germany for 3 years and I know how hard it is to break your iron German routine and get stuff done/fixed
DAS GEHT NICHT!
Prices in Germany are very different from elsewhere. I saw retailers selling basic Asus G74 configurations (No SSD, 660M GPU) for 1700 euros when they first came out. Make sure you actually see and use/type on an P170EM before you buy it, I can't stress this enough. Do the same for AW, and if what you want is within ~200 euros of the Clevo I would get the AW, but that's all up to your budget of course.
