Hi guys !
new to site but i have some ? to ask .
I'm waiting for a laptop from Maliba and i have a problem with there mainboard for what i have seen on line there mainboard in the bios are NOT set up for any overclocking.and i'd like to know if there is any one in the site with this laptop that knows if this is true.
Setup: i7-2760
8GB/1600MHz unknow
6970m CF
120GB intel (510) SSD
500GB 7200rpm unknow

also if some one does have this laptop can you tell me what site will tell me more about the mainboard. Thanks for any help.

What were you trying to overclock? The HM67 chipset does support Intel XTU for memory/CPU, however it's limited based on the model of CPU you choose. The 2760QM is not an unlocked part, and as such the multiplier cannot be changed. The 2820XM and up are the only parts that can be overclocked on this board. For GPU overclocking, you'd want to use software tools instead.

so you can not change the FBS to git more out of a 2760QM like you can with a 940 desktop cpu
-
No you cannot. They are completely locked by intel.

No. Intel sort of already did it for you though. The Turbo Boost feature will automatically scale the processor clocks up or down depending on need, thread use, and heat. The 2760QM has stock clocks of 2.4Ghz, but it can automatically turbo boost (overclock) itself to 3.5Ghz for short bursts doing single threaded applications. Multiple threads would mean a slower turbo, but it will still have a bump in speed

I have the 2960 XM CPU, how can I use Intel's XTU? Is it just the application on Intel's website? I think I checked in the past and all I found were applications that explicitly said they were for desktop motherboards.
Clevo's FTP website had an application for monitoring CPU and memory overclocking which led me to believe the overclocking capability associated with the model would be controlled via BIOS.
Unfortunately I've found that the BIOS is severely lacking with respect to this, and when I emailed Sager regarding this issue (among other things), the response they gave me was that the NP 8180 does not support overclocking. -
This is true. I ran into the same problem with my P180hm. The HM67 chipset does allow overclocking BUT it is bios limited. So you need someone to mod your bios to allow overclocking. It has been done in the past on clevo/sager machines so I hope someone will do it again.
