Hi-
I've been a long time reader of these forums and am very happy to see so many Clevo/Sager resellers taking time to talk to their customers on here and address any concernsIt certainly gives me confidence in knowing there is real customer support behind a purchase.
Anyhow, had a question about the build process for Malibal notebooks:
1) How exactly do Malibal techs test each laptop that is built if the customer does not choose to have OS installed? how do you test ram/video card/hard drive, etc. etc.. if only the BIOS loads up?
2) I didn't see any option for "No dead pixel guarantee" on the customize page as is common with many other resellers. Do Malibal's tech actually examine the lcd screen that will be shipped? The 100% Quality Assurance Guarantee states that lcd's will be replaced only if there are more than 5 dead/stuck pixels. Well.... what happens if I get a panel that has 1-5 dead pixels?? Knowing that each laptop is tested by Malibal before shipping will me quite furious that they saw 1-5 dead pixels and STILL decided to ship that screen to me. Has anyone had experiences ordering from Malibal and getting stuck/dead pixels?
3) If no OS option is chosen, does the hard drive get formatted at all? If so, what format & partition size is put on the hard drive?
Thank you!

Dead pixels are more likely to occur during shipping, also malibal gets the machines from sager and then puts their logo on it. That of course is the water down version of how it goes but u get the point.

1) I do this all the time at work ( not malibal or anything like that but a small town computer shop ). At the shop we have/have built a couple disks that are boot able to test all sorts of stuff such as RAM, HDD, ect.. We usually dont work with high end machines so ive never done any video card testing without an OS.
2) i ordered a Lotus P151MH1 from the with an OS. No stuck or dead pixels here. the screen is quite beautiful though and i only got the base screen
There are a couple Malibal guys on here that are really helpful. Ill bet that before the day is up theyll have all the info for ya! -

the screen is more likely to break when it is getting shipped the the producer or when the fully made system gets shipped to the consumer. if the producer happens to get bad screen they most likely ship them back for replacements, thats why we have quality control to make sure laptops aren't sent out with bad screens. so the only way for the screen to be broken would be from mishandling the laptop during shipping. but stuck pixels might be a different story.

ok so I guess I understand question #2 above concerning dead/stuck pixels. But I would still like to know more about how the system is tested to make sure it's working. I saw a thread yesterday about a customer's malibal notebook overheating and I'm just wondering how this was not caught by Malibal during the testing process ??
also, can someone answer #3 ?
any Malibal reps around? -
I'm sure they'll see this soon. If not, a PM wouldn't hurt.

They're usually pretty quick to jump in on threads, so I'm sure they'll be along shortly

When I got My MALIBAL laptop, everything went smooth as butter, screen is perfect, NO bloatware, I chose to buy a OS and was pleasantly surprised to see they installed it as well. The build process was fast too a full 3 days earlier then they estimated!

i dont know about malibal, but mythlogic builds the systems from the clevo shell and runs their own qtest and benches the system. i believe malibal offers sager product so the system gets built at sager then shipped, but warranty and repairs are handled by them. Please correct me if wrong, dont want to spread false info.
