I hate asking technical questions...I really prefer solving them myself but I am just out of ideas.

I literally just got in my P151hm1 laptop today from Malibal about 6 hours ago. I ordered it specifically without an OS because I have my own windows 7 ultimate disk I wanted to use. However, when I install it, I run into a big bsod.

Here is how far the process goes:
I go through the setup process like normal. Only afterwards when I'm setting up the date/timezone/name of pc, etc does it finalize that process and then goes to a Logon Process Initialization Failure screen. Upon which it restarts and when it attempts to boot up windows (starting windows screen), it goes to a blue screen with the following:

The bios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant....blah blah blah.

I have checked the bios version..it is up-to-date. I have tried to reinstall the os multiple times now. I have borrowed a friends home and pro version and still get the same thing.

I was told recently that this is a problem as of late with a few Ultimate users and that I may have to send it in for a full refund. I thought at first...WT??? I don't want to send it in for a refund...I got it because I really want this computer. So please, if anyone has any ideas I am all willing to try them out.

Another user on this forum: mubay - had the exact same problem trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate and then he switched to a Windows 7 Pro Disc and it installed with no issues.

Often blue screens during a OS install is Ram related. Do a Memtest on your Ram with MemTest86.com

Memtest86 and memtest 86+ both came back fine. However, I'm testing it via removing 1 ram stick at a time to verify that ram is not the problem.

    500GB 7200rpm 2.5" SATA 300

I did one install with one stick of the ram and no good...testing other now.

Also, forgive me if this sounds noobish...but I have built computers before (not laptops), but I have never seen a bios such as this one...its so simple. There is no info on temps of the cpu, voltage, nada. I have gone through every menu tab and nothing like that. Is this normal with the bios on the P151hm1?

    ***UPDATE***
Well, I have tested installing pro on both stick of ram and no good. Still running into the same issue. I asked someone else about it and they told me that the raid drivers need to be installed. I'm not sure about that and its not like they looked at the computer any either. I haven't seen anyone stating anywhere on the internet that raid drivers are the culprit.

So as of now I am out of ideas. If anyone else has any please let me know.

It's normal with pretty much all notebook BIOSes.

ok. As a final test I was instructed to re-flash the bios..which i did and it was still not successful. So after giving up I contacted Malibal and we are working on an rma return. I have to praise them for their support though! :)

    ****UPDATED****
I talked with a guy i know and he asked me to try ubuntu on it and see if it will run via the cd alone. And if it did, to try and install it. He said if it wont install...but it if it will run via the cd...that maybe the hard drive is the culprit.

    Could he be right?

There's a good chance it could be the hard drive. Another one of my favorite utilities you can run from a CD is Ultimate Boot CD - Overview which contains a ton of diagnostic hard drive utilities. Try running the tool designed for your hard drive (i.e. WD or Seagate) and see if the tests show that something is wrong with the drive. :)

Running tests now on it. I haven't put in a new drive yet as I want to hold off if it isn't needed. I did however get it to run linux off the cd...and it installed just fine without any issues.

I have also run a quick test with no errors to the hdd...but now running an extended test to see. If it comes back clean I will once more try to install 7 again. If no luck, I will try using the other hard drive.

    ***UPDATE***
Ok...I broke down and tried one more thing before opening the laptop up and replacing the hard drive. I downloaded a student discount version of windows 7 pro from microsoft. Just in case if for what ever reason the pro version i borrowed wasn't good. The pro version was an oem version...this pro version I bought was a retail version. I chose to download it only after seeing ubuntu installing correctly.

So, it works now. Thanks everyone for helping. I have no idea why my retail version of ultimate wont work, and why the home and pro versions previously didn't work...but this one is so I am happy now :)
