I am very interested in buying a malibal lotus. I really like the rubberized finish and have learned that is only available on the p150hm so im kind of leaning towards that. Does anyone have a comparison between the two? Is the rubberized finish very close to that on the asus g73 units? How is the matte plastic finish feel on the p151? I am spending a lot of money and I want it to feel quality. Thanks

I originally was leaning towards the 8130 because I didn't think I'd like the rubberized finish of the 8150, but now that I've got the 8150, I don't mind (and in fact rather like) the rubberized finish.

My 8150 feels superbly sturdy, but I'd imagine that's true of the 8130 as well, since they're the same chassis.

The bigger decisions for me was the upgradeability of the 8150 vs the 8130. I really wanted the 6990m, and it wasn't (isn't?) offered in the 8130.

Get the 8150. The only card offered on the 8130 is the 560m, which will be outdated VERY soon. If you have the money and want to make an investment, get the 8150 with the 6990m. That investment should last you at least 3+ years.

    Isn't the 6990 almost equivalent to to a 2 X 560M SLI setup?

560M is currently holding the place for the best useless graphics card in the market! (among 6990, 6970 and 570, and 580m) so ideally you would get a 8150 and upgrade to 6990m, if you dont have money steal $75 and buy a 6970M from malibal. Its pretty decent, if not wait 2 months and 660M which should be almost as good as GTX580M without the $500 premium. If you do not play games, I have wasted 2 mins of my time and I am going to kill you! ;) Haha, j/k.

Are you referring to the 128bit 560? If so then yes, it certainly underachieved. I Wouldn't say the same about the 192bit.

Also, isn't the videocard in the 8130 upgradable if you buy the larger power supply? If not then it would be a deal breaker.

yes, but when you can get a 6970 for $70, I wouldn't buy a 560. Also I am not a fan of buying a laptop and upgrading it with gpu/cpu its not worth the time and effort, just buy a good sys and after a year or two, just upgrade the whole dang thing! :)

I agree, if the money is there get the more expensive laptop and certainly add the 6970. Just disagree with the 192bit 560 being useless.

I was pretty impressed with the GTX560m in my P151HM. It runs BF3 at a mix of medium/high settings at 1080p well enough for me to enjoy it, even with owning a GTX580 in a desktop. Not to mention it runs pretty cool as well.

As for the matte finish on the P151HM, it is nice, slightly rough, gives a little bit of an interesting feeling that I got used to in a matter of a few days.

I am really impressed with the build quality and performance of the laptop, and with an SSD it feels even faster when booting up, etc..

    Hope this helps.
