    Hello All,

    I have been bouncing back and fourth - almost went the alienware route but I am hopnig to get some background on the p170em.

    Is this laptop extremely loud when gaming (fan noise)?

    and does the laptop get too hot to rest in my lap to play as I will be using this laptop around the house.

    I like the price to performance, but noise and heat will be important.

    I'm sure the fan noise is respective and debatable, but as far as heat goes, I'm sure the Clevo cooling system does an amazing job, just like my old Sager did, and my friend's Alienware did NOT. I found the fan noise on my old Sager decently acceptable. The newer models should be quieter..

    It's fairly quiet when idling, it is definitely audible when under load. It does get hot under load as well, and with the vents underneath, it isn't recommended to have it on your lap unless you have a lapboard or something similar.
