Did any one notice that the matte screen has a slight grainy top layer, most noticeable when viewing pure white colors? What I am seeing basically is a slight grey noise over the whole screen. It seems it has always been like this but recently I started wondering whether or not this was normal.

I think that is just the anti-glare coating.

i think it may vary form one batch to another of the same screens. my wife and i have the same 95% gamut matte screens and her one has that grainy effect, whilst my one is completely smooth.

I´m the owner of two CLEVO laptops, both with matte screen. Although the P151 show that grainy effect (it´s the stock matte LCD) my P170EM with High Color Gamut does not.
If your screen is the stock unit that´s totally normal.

My W110ER also have it, it gets shiny the grain...

But I wanted the Glossy screen, though lately clevo is not making for the W110ER anymore :( (at least for now).

I have always used matte screens, and I have learned to just ignore this.
