I'm preparing to order a couple laptops from either ProStar or XoticPC, and I want the matte screens on them. On the P151HM it looks like ProStar offers this screen standard
    :
15.6” Full HD 16:9 LED Backlit Wide screen (1920x1080) with Matte Finished Screen (but it doesn't say what the color gamut spec is)

while XoticPC shows this as an upgrade for the P151HM for an extra $190:

15.6" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Screen w/ 95% NTSC Color Gamut (1920x1080)

How do I know whether the screen from ProStar is as good (or at least good enough) as the XoticPC screen? I need a ten-second education here, help, please!

the stock screen on the p151 is a matte screen

xotic has the option to upgrade to a better matte screen

many of the p151 owners like their stock screen

i upgraded my p150 to the 95% screen and really really like it :) it's up to you

The stock screens on these Sager machines are actually some of the better stock screens I have seen. We have a lot of users that like the stock screen, but the upgraded screen will be a higher color gamut and it has been very popular among photo/video enthusiasts. I really do like the looks of the upgraded screen myself, and it has been a very popular option.

I got the 95% matte upgrade from Xotic. Its pretty sexy, and I couldn't tell it was a matte from just looking at it. Its very bright (almost too bright?) but the colors look excellent. I do wish I was savvy enough to calibrate it "correctly", but leaving it alone looks just fine.

On another note however, I was having some feelings of nausea and headaches after looking at the screen at work. I'm not sure what it was, maybe going from a crap dell screen to pure excellence, but it has mostly passed i think.

I phoned ProStar and asked for specs for the screen and they said they couldn't provide any information about them! They couldn't tell me the % gamut or anything else. Frustrating.
