Folks, as the title states I have a Clevo P150EM with a 7970m. Although I love the laptop and happy with the performance of the card more or less, the frequent crashes in some of my favorite games have just become too much.

Civilization V Gods & Heros - I have to play in Directx 9 mode or face constant crashes..

Max Payne 3 - Frequent crashes have tried everything to solve it with no luck...

    Anyone else having these problems?

For the Civ V issue, perhaps you can try updating your DirectX

I have the DX11 crash for Civ V too...it worked fine until I updated to the most recent AMD driver ): but now most of my other games work better so...I guess I'll suffer for now. And I've tried updating DX11 and turned off the intro video and all the other common advice I could find to no avail.

with stock drivers, i was facing crashing problems with max payne 3...
with leshcat 12.6 drivers, these crashing problems stopped.

Anyway, i recommend DX9 for max payne, because with DX11 FPS drops a lot

Same here...stock drivers are okay for civ v. Anything else crashes.
