I have been having a great time with this game and up to chapter V.

Interestingly, the graphics options are fantastic and the game itself is a great benchmark to test your beast.

I originally had everything max(Dx 11) except MSAA and had that locked at 2x. Would find that it would drop to lowest fps around 20 on my systems (see sig)
However, if I turned MSAA off i would have an instant 20 fps boost(minimum 32 fps max 65fps). Interestingly, I also discovered that some of the texture detail is removed when selecting FXAA. What you will notice is that the white shimmering floor texture is removed when selecting FXAA to anything else but off.

So basically, to get best graphics quality and max fps I turned off MSAA and FXAA. I can have FXAA on max but prefer it without it.. runs smoother too (min fps 32 and max 65 fps averaging 58)

When I put both on max, i.,e. FXAA very high and MSAA 8x the performance was down to fps 11 and was heavily taxing on the system, so this is not an option, but it ran :)
Finally, I feel the 6990m can still match it with the 7970m as some on the new alienware machines with these new GPU's are getting roughly the same fps as me. Very happy..and I have yet to o/c my 6990m yet.

Would be curious to see what other fellow clevo 6990/7970m users are getting with their systems..

    This game truly rOx...

With Max Payne 1 and 2 already on my shelf from years before, it's only a matter of time before I'll get number 3...in the meantime, still busy with other games. :D

I'm staying on Core 650, the removal of Jet mode on the EMs really makes me start worrying about the temp when it constantly run at 99% usage .

Stock fan speed with notepal u3/icd/and a modded cooling system.

Well I guess you were lucky getting that card, on mine no matter what I do at core 700 it's going to reach 88C if the game holds the GPU at 99% usage for like 10 min. Repasted 4 times with ICD7 and the result is still similar, and the last 2 cleanup the paste was only covering the die :(. I've ordered some Ramsinks few days ago, I hope it changes something.

I was lucky yep, because afaik this is the only card on the planet that does 720/1850 on stock clocks while being completely stable, topping 85c max.
Im using 700/1800 for stability sake tho. If I had a 200w powerbrick probably with overvolt I could push it even further.
I know, I did, I was stable at 750/1900 @ v1.0, but there's too much power draw that the AC can't stand.

Well mine can run at Core 750 stable @0.87, just the temp is going to hit 91C and stays there .

    ^ but it's a 675m mate, mine is a 485m.
You should consider that is more ancient that a 580/675m since the core is derived from the power hungry gtx 460.
Other 485m I saw around struggle at 700, even 650 at stock voltage, that's why I was saying.

Well I didn't think that the power optimized chip would have make that big of a difference like 50MHz at first. On overclocking I guess the GF114 has about 7% more OC potency than the GF104 with the same voltage. But for some reason the 675M runs hotter compared to the 485M/580M? Or maybe it's just my card... By the way that Core 700 is with 0.80v vbios and it shoots up to 88C.
