Just wondering what max temps people get with this card. I have the m570tu and after playing L4D for 30+ mins my max temp readings with HWMonitor always seem to be around 83-85.

I read this card will reach 95 before it down clocks..is this correct?

Not using any cooler or paste...just a couple of bottle caps to prop the rear of the laptop up.

    Thx.

    those temps are perfectly fine.

you need not worry about anything.... my GPU goes up to 89C while playing L4D.

as long as its under 90C you should be fine.

you can use the Fan Toggle to max the fan speed Fn+1

That depends on if you are overclocked or not. Stock, mine would never go above 65C (until it started having problems), and with a strong but stable overclock, i usually hovered around 85C.

OCZ Freeze thermal paste dropped the temp a good 10C alone.

This card isn't overclocked and the above temps are with the fn+1 max enabled and clean fans. Thx for the replys.

    85C?
Hmm, that`s odd, I expected the TU to handle the 9800M GTX better than that, while I had mine RU with the 45W 7950GTX max temp was 68C. Awesome, e ? :D

the OP's ambient temp is probably warmer than normal room temp.

Also temps at idle are about 38-40 with reg fans.

My idle temp was always between 33-35C so sounds about right.
Make sure you elevate the back of the laptop, it makes a huge difference.

Yeah as I mentioned above, the rear is on a couple of bottle caps. Not that worried about the current temps but maybe it could use opening up instead of just spraying the rear and underneath with compressed air.

Cleaning out the fans is also a good idea.
Besides, it should take 10-15 mins max, as oposed to 2 hours as much as I need on my XPS...

You have my sympathies sir. Yikes that's brutal.

No harm done, I have patience when it comes to my laptops. Besides, I realised that right now it`s better assembled, since they probably done it fast at the factory.
Heh, I do miss my RU now though, was so easy to keep it clean and maintain...

Had some XPS laptops in the past also and had to swap cards in and out many times for various reasons. So many screws and sections to take off to get to the card and can now disassemble and reassemble one lightning fast lol. Haven't tried with my TU yet but will be interesting to see.

I've peaked as high as 89C on gaming sessions; OC'd to 600/950/1600. I put on some new thermal paste and haven't gotten above 78C now. This card will run fine in the 80's all day long.
