Found a utility to overclock memory on PM45 chipsets. Can be downloaded here:

I could not get the tCL to OC, however the tRTC, tRP, tRAS, and other minor timings to OC without issue.
Without being able to OC the tCL, the changes won't be very noticable, however increased tRTC, tRP, and tRAS timings helps make things snappier, and in extreme mem intensive apps, this can equate to decreased processing times.
Happy timing OCing![]()
( I could get my 5-5-5-15 timings down to 5-4-4-12 without a BSOD. I'm sure 7-6-6-15 will work for the rest of ya'll )

emike09: very good man thanks.
tCL dont work for me too but will try it -
call me noob, but any notable reason to OC the RAMs?
-
There are a lot of reasons to decrease the timings (OC essentially). You are NOT going to see much of a difference in games, however in anything that is memory intensive, such as 3D modelling apps, video editors, photo editors, compiling, and really any other pro apps, you'll receive an enhanced experience. May not be noticeable up front, but say you were rendering a 2 hour HD video in Avid, which in my last case, was a 12 1/2 hr render, it could drop that 12 1/2 render down to say, 12 hours... little things like that.
In game, I got about a 2-3% performance increase when I purchased 5-5-5-15 memory instead of the 7-7-7-20 memory. So taking it down to 7-6-6-15, I wouldn't expect more than a 1% performance gain in game. -
Yeah this is a nice little tool, I have been using it for a while.
Don't forget to test your RAM after changing the settings, use a program such as HCI Memtest and let it run 8-16 hours to ensure stability.

Anything to overclock the cpu on a PM45

Oh btw, when I try to run it, it tells me, You must use normal size (96ppp) to use this software. Whats all that about? -
I've not heard the 96ppp. Could it have anything to do with 96dpi? No idea. -
The only way to change TCL is edit it with Timing tools and flash the rom. But if that not bootable you mush hotflash it back.....Already done that several times....
-
One thing I just noticed. A few weeks ago I flashed bios 1.00.12EC (Eurocom). With this new BIOS memset changes my TCL to 10 whenever I try to use it.
With BIOS 1.00.10 I was able to set 7-6-6-18, now if I attempt that it gets set to 10-6-6-18.
The throughput does not change much, only about 120MB/s difference (With Everest 5.1)
Oh well I guess I will stick to the 7-7-7-20 default. -
Strange that the dpi would have an effect on the application.
Been running all day with decreased timings, still running great! Glad the app exists. -
uhm, ive OCd my P8600 on a NP8660 with setFSB. 2,54GHz up from 2,4GHz... just not very fancy, given it likes to crash on me =).
