Has anyone successfully run Premiere CS5 Mercury Playback Engine in Hardware Acceleration mode using this unlocker on Clevo X7200?

Information shared will be of great help to a future x7200 owner...

    Thank you!

    Thanks trvelbug! +1

I was just simply browsing the web when I found this>>> PPBM5

Just merely reading the contents, helped me a lot in deeper understanding of matters about Adobe Premiere CS5 and hardware considerations!

    More power!

you will find the best info on premiere pro here
Adobe Creative Suite Forum at DVinfo.net

the author of ppbm5 regularly posts there and most of the contributors to ppbm are regulars of that forum too.

Yeah, thanks! DVinfo.net is indeed an addition to our references...

But I'm more concerned of the X7200 + Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 combo. Here's one thread I saw yesterday: SAGER+ADOBE

dont be misled by some of the comments of desktop pros like harm.
they are professional editors and work on 4k videos or higher; this is around 10x the video size of a 1080p video. they are also usually time constrained. becasue of this, they get the fastest system available ie 8xhdd in raid10, 24gig ram, 980x cpu or higher.
if your working on 1080p and are not doing super complex compositing or layering, youll be fine.

I totally agree. And if you take it from here, Harm used RAID 30 of 12-units - 1TB, 7200 HDD's... But then again if you look closer, there is this only one Sager NP9285 on the list! Twas at the 33rd spot days ago. As of writing, Sager Laptop 1 slipped two notches down (see attached). Though not really strong compared to some, it has beaten more than 50% of other desktops! How much more can the X7200 deliver?

i have ppbm5 myself but have not ran it.
the x7200 can be customized to have much higher specs than the 9285 although i doubt if 480m's in sli with be much benefit to ppro and media encoder

Aside from FX3800M, there are several cuda-enabled mobile gpu's on that list. Your 285M has higher cuda cores than a gts 360M, right?

As of the moment, only single gpu can take advantage of MPE. Others are "crossing their fingers" for an sli support in the future versions of APPro CS...

yes my 280m has more cuda cores than a 360m.
i also checked the list and it seems no one is on sli.
although gpu acceleration helps the mercury engine, it only helps for effects and transitions that support gpu acceleration. it will not necessarily increase encoding speed since afaik adobe media encoder does not support cuda.

    stand corrected on the 280M.
the number of cores & clock speed of the i7 processor installed will determine the time of conforming/transcoding/encoding task/s on APP CS5.
