For those wanting to give their GPU some exercise, NVIDIA has Metro 2033 for free in their online store. No credit card info needed, US addresses only. This may be mispriced, but it worked perfectly fine - including Steam activation. While it lasts:

Heh I was trying but it looks like it disappeared after i created my account with them. Looked it up on the store listings and it aint free there.
You also posted this thread twice, thats a no no lol. -
Looks like they took it down, yes. It was up for 15 minutes after I posted, so hopefully some got a chance to get it. I first posted this in the Sager forum (because that's where I lurk), then figured that more people would benefit from it if it were posted in the Gaming section.

I get "server error" now.

Yes, looks like they took it down. Altogether, it was up for about an hour, so hopefully someone got a chance to get it.

I foolishly attempted to run Metro 2033 when it came out on my 9800m GS and got absolutely owned. -

What about the 9800M GTX and QX9300? If so, I think I'll buy it on Steam. I have heard much good about this game.

The laptop 9800GT/GTX has more shaders than the GS/GTS do it stands a better chance than the GTS does, but in comparison with the recommended desktop card specs its no match.
Basically leave 9800 out of your thoughts even if it is a desktop lol. 9800GTX+ desktop card is nice though, i know someone with one ill see if he has the game. -
THQ store has it for $10 download.

its still a great game with regards to graphic presentation and story, if you played it in a mainstream gpu or lower you may be dismayed with the issues, but with higher end gpus and some dx11 tweaks the graphics aces the game. heck in high end gpus there are still issues, but for me not in an annoying rate where smoke details lags the game.

Then I must be lucky... 30FPS 1080p DX11 @ normal settings lol
