According to this website: Computer Games on Laptop Graphic Cards - Notebookcheck.net Tech the 7970M should be getting well over 60FPS at High in Metro 2033, but in my case, High gives me 30-40FPS (1080p and DX11). Very High gives me about 30FPS. I thought notebookcheck used Enduro for their testing, so that is why I am concerned.

Even low results in FPS below 60. What is going on?

They used a XM CPU I guess... Metro 2033 uses CryEngine 2 which can be very CPU dependant

May want to research that. Metro 2033 uses 4A Games own proprietary engine. Rumored to be based on the X-Ray Engine which was the first to have DX11 features on their Stalker games. But 4A Games is Nvidia infested with PhysX etc. CryEngine 2 is not. CryEngine 2 doesn't even have DX11, it has some DX10 features but doesn't look any better than DX9 mode.

I found out that the DX11 Depth of Field option is horrendous for performance. I turned it off and my performance skyrocketed. Now I get a very stable frame rate on the high preset at 1080p in DX11 mode.
